Freezing property taxes in DC is one of the worst policy ideas I've heard. It's a massive tax cut for people who own properties — including multimillion-dollar houses — paid for by DC residents who do not own homes. It also drains revenue from DC while we're in a fiscal crisis.

Funny how when Black folks take a page out of the DSA handbook and go "uncommitted," "3rd-party," leave the top line of the ballot blank, or stay home in protest, (especially white) DSAs get mad. If "earn my vote" is the new thing now, then Black folks also get to do it.

Tbf I don't think people *not* believing some of the positive Project Hail Mary reactions has anything to do with the movie or filmmakers. Rather, I think this skepticism comes with influencers who can't make a positive reaction without sounding like they just won the lottery.

This is obviously nonsense. Because Republicans had majorities in both houses, and budget bills can't be filibustered, Congressional Democrats had no say over what went into the OBBB, and did not stop Trump from re-filling it over the past year.
