I want every american parent who has ever had a baby in the nicu to read this and imagine their own child in this situation
austerity is theft@wideofthepost11 Nov 2023
The Israeli assault on this pediatric hospital was so intense, it forced doctors and nurses to make an impossible choice to leave five babies in the ICU behind. I can't adequately describe my rage at my country endorsing and bankrolling this depravity. washingtonpost.com/world/202…

Western mental health teaches “I don’t owe anyone anything” but communal cultures and populations have been teaching for centuries longer than the existence of western medicine the counter, “we owe one another everything.”

The timeless quote from Malcom X on my mind and oh so relevant today “If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing”

Saw this posted on LinkedIn as a leader’s recommended reading list (or something along those lines). Once again I am begging of you, please read more fiction. I promise that it will do more for you vs another productivity optimization book.

This is devastating. These are lives lost, loved ones who were gone in a second and not just numbers. As we push our government and other governments to help, please donate and support anyway you can. Sending dua and love to the Syrian and Turkish people here and abroad 💔

This made me cry. I can't stress enough how important it is that you support organisations like @SyriaCivilDef who are the only hope for people caught in this endless nightmare. Please donate anything you can. xitter.cf/Ola_Salem/status/16226…

For those who don't speak Arabic, the man is basically telling the boy to say the shahada, in prep of death. Because there doesn't seem to be any way out for the child. This is horrifying.

Tonight, on Christmas Eve, Gov Abbott’s buses dropped off migrants at the VP’s house in the freezing cold. This is not new, it has been happening for 8 months. The Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network has welcomed >200 buses carrying ~7k ppl. @HdcPeace @DC_BCI @EORMutualAid 🧵

Just in on this Christmas Eve- Two busloads of migrants (approximately 50 people) were dropped off in front of @VP residence in 18° weather around 8p two sources tell me. 50 more migrants expected later tonight. Unclear at this time where they came from or who sent the group

The airlines got $54 billion in taxpayer money. They said thanks by jacking up ticket prices 45% & stranding passengers at crowded airports. Enough. It's time for the Transportation Department to impose massive fines on poor-performing airlines & full refunds for long delays.

What's happening to Ukraine is awful, but it's weird to see takes like "we've never seen anything like this." We have. We saw the US invade Iraq and Afghanistan, and we saw decades of war there. The idea that war is only terrible when its another country doing it must be smashed.
