The Trump Admin is one of the most corrupt in American history. So saying that that his Admin is “guided by an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ” is a classic case of taking the Lord’s name in vain. whitehouse.gov/briefings-sta…

I am shocked, shocked I tell you that @TPUSA is not a Christian organization like everyone was trying to convince me just over a year ago.

You've already heard of TULIP, well in honor of Reformation Day, I present to you PANSY: the 5 doctrines of Christian Nationalism. Power. Power is what we are after. Power is the plan. Power is what we will continue talking about until it manifests itself and we seize control of everything, in Jesus' name. All criticism of a Christian Nationalist is demonic slander from hell worthy of eternal damnation. We are under divine obligation to call out such slanderers and say whatever we want about them, even calling down curses on them, in Jesus' name. Nazis with me, Nazis before me, Nazis behind me, Nazis beneath me, Nazis to my right, Nazis to my left, Nazis when I lie down, Nazis when I sit down, Nazis when I arise, Nazis in every eye that sees me, Nazis in every ear that hears me, but calling me a Nazi is slander. See above. Social media is literal war and we are literal generals. The weapons of our warfare are of the flesh, and theoretically powerful for the tearing down of feelings, as we tear down reputations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of my radness, and take every trend captive to the obedience of Christian Nationalism, and are ready to punish all disobedience to our movement with dank memes and mean tweets and 3 hour podcasts, in Jesus' name. You are either with us 100% or you are a gay, fat, feminist, boomer who is probably in a mixed marriage. Which isn't ideal but can usually be rectified by a more expensive DNA test that can magically turn Mexicans into Italians, in Jesus' name. Happy Reformation Day. SDG

It seems to me that there is a direct correlation to Christians thinking a pastor’s character doesn’t matter as long as he grows the church and Christians thinking a politician’s character doesn’t matter as long as his policies are deemed correct.

Trump vs. Biggs Trump recently came to Arizona and said: -- "rent in Arizona has plummeted by 14 percent." -- "Arizona's historic copper corridor is roaring back to health." -- We have a "booming Arizona economy." But Andy Biggs says: -- Arizona housing is unaffordable -- Job growth is "anemic" -- And our schools are failing ........................... So which is it? Is Arizona thriving or failing? The awkward dynamic of being a Republican candidate in Arizona with Trump as president... My latest at @azcentral : azcentral.com/story/opinion/…

Not all heroes wear capes.
Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

It doesn’t take a PhD in biblical hermeneutics to understand that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. But it takes some biblical gymnastics to argue that Christian ends excuse the absence of fruit.

One of my concerns with much of American Christianity is that it seems to be predominantly defined by a cacophony of anger and fear.

It's wild how we often chastise the American church for being fans and not followers, but our ministry model is mostly attractional; a model that has proven to be insufficient if not accompanied by relational, disciple-making emphases. If discipleship is "come to our building once and week and hear us preach and sing." why would we think they would be anything but fans?!

I have the same thoughts about @SlowToWrite (Samuel Sey) that I have with all undocumented (or potentially undocumented) immigrants who are living productive otherwise law-abiding lives in the country. 1) Detention is a last resort, not a first resort. 2) If there is *evidence* that they are flight risk (not just suspicion due to immigration status) use an ankle monitor. 3) Detain them if they've committed felonies or are otherwise a threat to the public. Oh, and deportation isn't always the right answer. If a person is married to an American, has a job, and has American kids here then it's usually going to be bad for us and for them to deport. We should *want* productive, peaceful people and families in this country. Border security is very good. We should control who gets in this country and limit immigration to a pace that sustainable, doesn't overwhelm social services, and doesn't overtax communities. Interior enforcement -- especially when dealing with people who are living productive lives here -- can be more perilous. There's lots of consensus to get rid of criminals. Let's do that and then talk about the folks who are living good lives here in the U.S. I think the Reagan approach in 1986 (legalization plus more border security) was correct. We failed, however, at border security in the years and decades that followed, and that is a key reason for our present crisis.

Doug Wilson, the dean of Christian nationalists, says he wants to lead the battle against racism and antisemitism in his own movement. The question: is it too little too late? 1/2

Yes. This is completely possible and not unusual. Welcome to America’s broken immigration system. Now that you realize the injustice, please advocate for the 1000s of others this happens to, rather than continuing to cheer on this immoral mass deportation campaign.

I've seen a number of pastors and politicians telling other pastors to speak up more on politics. I've also seen a number of pastors telling people how they themselves will vote and how others should vote. 1/14

I will vote my conscience, which Jesus alone can bind, and do so with complete faith that neither America nor her politicians are our saviors, that this world is not my home, and that God is bigger than any election. So, don't assume you know who I'm voting for. 13/14

Weekly reminder from Lesslie Newbigin: "When the Church tries to embody the rule of God in the forms of earthly power, it may achieve that power, but it is no longer a sign of the kingdom." #Kingdom #LesslieNewbigin

I’m so tired of being told that we must “vote for policies over people.” Can’t we have both? Where have all the statesmen gone? What happened to compassionate conservatives?

Could a Christian learn some common grace truth from a gay, “married,” transhumanist billionaire with two daughters born via surrogacy? Yes. Should a Christian look to such a man for a theological lecture about the Antichrist? Every person in the pews knows the answer to that.
If you are interested in the truth, you must willing to learn it from any source, even one that you find offensive. Augustine said Christians should not limit themselves to learning from only Christians. Nietzsche, Schmitt, Foucault, Marx should all be read and discussed
