Next key date for Chennai to be watched is around 21-22 October (+ or - one day).
UAC
---------
Rains are expected tonight in Chennai but Red Alert rains (>200 mm) varuma ? Chennai has historically not experienced back-to-back 200 mm rainfall days from an Upper Air Circulation (UAC) without a break. The current UAC is close to Chennai which mean convergence would be slightly north of Chennai.
Today forecast for Chennai
-----------------
Today’s rainfall outlook: Rains are likely to be manageable compared with yesterday’s spell. The main convergence zone is expected to remain north of the UAC, favouring South Andhra Pradesh and the Tiruvallur district, which could receive good rainfall.
Hence, the chances of another widespread, very heavy rainfall spell across Chennai, similar to yesterday, appear slim today (just an personal opinion).
If anything forms or any massive cloud is converging like yesterday, will update the same even though it has less than 10% probability.

BREAKING #MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan uphold Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar's decision to accept the resignations of six AIADMK MLAs between May 26, 2026 and June 29, 2026. Judges partly allow a batch of writ petitions filed by AIADMK whip Agri S.S. Krishnamurthy challenging the Speaker's decision. Judges say the acceptance is constitutionally valid and there was no need to conduct a roving inquiry. They say, the Speaker can nevertheless continue the disqualification proceedings and conclude them within a period of two months. @THChennai Backgrounder👇thehindu.com/news/national/t…

Mr. Richardson Wilson @sine_lege , don't force me to expose you in public. I am not among the journalists in your payrolls to report only what is convenient to you. And don't you ever dare to give me lessons on journalism for I know what kind of ethical legal practice you follow.
It seems some are habituated to selective reporting of Court proceedings for content farming, click baits and social media clout.
Experienced court reporters know to segregate comments made in lighter vein from serious oral observations made by Hon’ble Judges.
@the_hindu needs to conduct a refresher course for some of its legal correspondents on first principles of court reporting.
