Partnerships are central to ending AIDS. I was pleased to engage with @UNAIDS_Zim Country Director Trouble Chikoko on accelerating #Zimbabwe’s HIV response—strengthening paediatric HIV services, advancing #eMTCT, and expanding prevention for adolescent girls and young women.
At #IMNHC2026, @lmworeko, ED, @ICWEastAfrica emphasized centering women with lived experience in #EMTCT of HIV, Syphilis & HBV.
Through #SAFEStart+, supported by @UNITAID, implemented by @PATHtweets with #ICWEA & @Hep_Alliance, integrated, community-led care is being advanced.

The Regional Validation Committee delegation was received by the MoH, Dr. Celso Matos, as part of the mission to verify the elimination of mother to child HIV transmission in Sao Tome & Principe 🇸🇹. The meeting reaffirmed commitment & outlined next steps toward the triple #eMTCT.
The Ministry of Health and PAHO continue to work with civil society partners to eliminate mother‑to‑child transmission of HIV, syphilis, and Hepatitis B.

Hep B vaccination within the first 24 hours of life for every newborn child is one of the key elements for the triple #EMTCT. #Ukraine must adopt this approach for a better future where every child is protected from #HIV, hep B, and syphilis
