I met Scott Colom in February. His integrity was plain to see; his optimism was infectious. A political talent, for sure. But—c’mon. At that event, James Carville told me Colom would win. I respect James, but—c’mon. Later, he came on my podcast and was great. But—c’mon. And now here we are, Mississippi has not elected a Dem Senator in 44 years. And he was a segregationist. C’MON.
Medgar Evers was killed in his driveway because he refused to accept a Mississippi where some were denied the right to vote. He stood with thousands who marched, organized and sacrificed so future generations could have a voice. We owe it to them not to take that right for granted. On Tuesday, honor their legacy. Vote.

Nate Cohn points out that the Times' changed its weighing process this year. This is what the new polls would look like with the old weighing process. So they're already trying to protect against a pro-Dem polling error nytimes.com/2026/11/01/upsho…

NEW Former Michigan Governor Jim Blanchard — a longtime friend and supporter of Haley Stevens — says he was having dinner on Friday with Stevens and her fiancĆ©, and that Stevens was excited to attend the church service with Jim Clyburn and Abdul El-Sayed. Blanchard said that Stevens’ fiancĆ©, Jason Turkish, began chiding her at the dinner. ā€œHe was working her over. The way he was saying it was, ā€˜Everyone is disappointed in you, they did everything they could to help you and then immediately after you lose the primary, you endorsed him.ā€™ā€ ā€œHe was all distraught,ā€ he said. ā€œHe was all strung out about Abdul. I let her know, he’s not a good influence.ā€ Blanchard remained in touch with Stevens throughout the weekend and expected her to attend the church service. He only found out from the news that she was at the service with Rogers and endorsing him. ā€œSomething snapped in her. And it snapped in 24 hours,ā€ Blanchard told Zach Gorchow of State Affairs. ā€œAnd I don’t know what.ā€ Blanchard, clearly pained by the situation, said several times, ā€œThis is not the Haley I know.ā€ He lamented Turkish’s ā€œterrible political judgment.ā€ Full Story: bit.ly/3UV80b7

The last thing I’ll say about these polls is that there’s something very interesting and encouraging for Democrats. NYT/Siena specifically adjusted their weighting to account for the polling errors they experienced in 2024. If they had used their 2024 weights instead of the new methodology they’ve developed, these would have been the results.
🚨BREAKING🚨 The final New York Times/Siena Senate polls show Democrats ahead in every single competitive race.

As I report here ... - Stevens told numerous high profile Dems last night she was voting for AES - staff was literally waiting at the unity rally thinking she was about to arrive - even key Dems who are similarly skeptical of AES are baffled and aghast talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog…

This is just not accurate, at all. This was Haley's statement FROM LAST NIGHT: ā€œI was glad to see our senate nominee say he does not agree with the content of the vile Rebellion PAC ad which claimed Israel and Jews were to blame for the high costs of groceries.ā€ Abdul isn't perfect and has his flaws, but the sheer amount of misinformation about him, his views, and his comments that's been amplified by people who should know better has truly shocked me.
Stevens promptly endorsed El-Sayed after the primary, campaigned for him and is endorsing the rest of the Democratic ticket. Hardly a sore loser. Stevens took a principled stand asking El-Sayed to condemn an ad blaming Israel for rising grocery prices. He refused.

I WOULDN’T, EVER! I’ve been working for candidates whose names are lesser known around the Country and in Texas… I’m still not sure why that’s angered so many people, but I’m praying @thefirepac has a great night because it’ll mean our state and country have some amazing years to look forward to.

I put together what Haley Stevens previously said about Mike Rogers and it makes me wonder does she really believe in anything?

El-Sayed: At the end of the day, I actually don't think about Haley Stevens. Because you know what? I'm just less interested in the politics of it all than I am in the policy of it all… If you are somebody who believes that we should stand up to hate, and you have watched this last campaign, I think we probably would not want to support Mike Rogers and Donald Trump and JD Vance. If you're somebody who believes that we need more health care, not less than you probably don't want to vote for the guy who voted to raise prescription drug prices or keep them high 19 times and takes money from big pharma and big insurance. If you're somebody who believes in public education, you probably do not want to support the guy who architected the initial legislation in 1999 that ended up stripping local control from Detroit public schools and the local community. If you're somebody who believes that you should have a right to a union, you probably don't want to support the guy who busts unions. So I'm just saying that the principles that we believe in as Democrats are really quite clear. I stand for all of them.

From now on, I do not want to hear ANY MORE ā€œProgressives are ratfucking Demsā€ EVER AGAIN. People like Francesca Hong and Tom Steyer have backed the more moderate Dem nominee in their own races. Meanwhile Haley Stevens is out campaigning with Mike Rogers just TWO DAYS before the election

I ask Rep. Haley Stevens, how can you support a candidate who stands in direct opposition to what you stand for? ā€œNothing is perfect,ā€ Stevens says before a heckler yells, ā€œStevens is a traitor,ā€ which ended the press scrum.

Again this narrative is completely fake. There is no ā€œcracks in their coalitionā€. El-Sayed is polling at 95% with Michigan Democrats, higher than Jocelyn Benson (91%) and higher than Rogers is with Republicans (91%). This is a fringe AIPAC hissy fit 100% astroturfed by GOP donors
NEW: Michigan isn’t going to settle Dems’ civil war. Dems here warn the cracks in their coalition will outlast #MISEN — and create some real challenges for 2028ers in this early state. ā€œOur diversity is important. But with that, it’s going to take a lot of workā€ @politico politico.com/news/2026/10/31…
