Within the next 48 hours, if flour is not allowed into Gaza, all bakeries in the city will stop producing bread. We are facing an enormous catastrophe. Famine is knocking on our doors once again, and this time, it could be worse than anything we have experienced before. Please, do not remain silent! Talk about Gaza, make our voices heard around the world, and do everything you can before thousands of people lose access to something as basic as a loaf of bread.

Huge example of shifting public attitudes on Israel — AIPAC, so powerful for so long, is now so politically toxic that it's ending direct endorsements and donations.
SCOOP: AIPAC will no longer endorse congressional candidates or earmark donations to congressional campaigns. The group's super PAC, United Democracy Project, will continue to operate and it will urge members to donate directly to pro-Israel candidates. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/ai…

Another insightful article by Ronni Salt… definitely worth your time. I tire of the PM saying “Turn the temperature down” but then failing consistently to behave in ways that keeps the temperature down. @AlboMP … watch what you do more than what you say. We see you.

Worth a read…about a great Australian.
I know you know this picture. All adult people who've carried some of the pain of this world for others do. 58 years ago this month, three men stood on an Olympic podium in Mexico City. Two of them, courageous to a level most people will never reach or even aspire to reach, became famous for raising their fists. The third didn't raise his fist. But he knew exactly what was happening. 16 October 1968. The Olympic Games in Mexico City. The United States is being torn apart by racial conflict. Martin Luther King has been murdered six months earlier. Black Americans are still fighting for rights that other Americans take for granted. Two American sprinters, Tommie Smith and John Carlos, have just won gold and bronze in the 200 metres. Between them stands a 26-year-old white Australian called Peter Norman. Norman has run the race of his life. He's won SILVER, beating Carlos, one of the overwhelming favourites. His time of 20.06 seconds is so astonishing that it will remain the Australian national record for another 56 years. He should be thinking about his medal, his future, the applause, the extraordinary doors that might open for him. But Smith and Carlos have something else on their minds. They're planning to protest racial injustice during the medal ceremony. In front of the entire world. And they tell Norman what they're going to do. Norman is Australian. The American civil rights movement isn't his fight. He could simply stand there, smile politely, collect his silver medal and go home. Nobody would ever know that he had been given an opportunity to demonstrate moral courage and declined it. But Norman asks the Americans what he can do to help. And he tells them: "I'll stand with you." There's a practical problem. Smith and Carlos have planned to wear black gloves, but Carlos has forgotten his pair. Norman suggests something beautifully simple. Why don't they share the remaining pair? One glove each. That's why, in the famous photograph, Smith raises his RIGHT fist and Carlos raises his LEFT. The Australian also finds himself an Olympic Project for Human Rights badge. He pins it to his tracksuit. And the three men step onto the podium. The American national anthem begins. Smith and Carlos bow their heads and raise their fists. Norman stands beside them. A small white man in an Australian tracksuit, wearing a tiny badge. It doesn't look particularly spectacular. No shouting. No violence. No great revolutionary speech. Just three men saying, in their own ways, that human beings deserve to be treated as human beings. And the sporting establishment goes NUTS. Smith and Carlos are expelled from the Games. They're denounced, threatened and treated as traitors for daring to make people uncomfortable during a sporting event. Norman returns to Australia. His country has its own ugly history of racial exclusion, particularly concerning its Indigenous population. And there are plenty of Australians who aren't particularly thrilled that their Olympic silver medallist has associated himself with two Black American protesters. Norman encounters hostility and ostracism in parts of the sporting world. Four years later, he isn't selected for the Munich Olympics. Norman never repudiates what he did. Peter Norman dies in 2006, aged 64. At his funeral in Melbourne, two men have travelled all the way from America. Tommie Smith. John Carlos. The two Black American athletes he had supported 38 years earlier. And they carry his coffin. Carlos told the mourners that Norman hadn't stood in front of them or behind them. He had stood WITH them. In 2012, the Australian Parliament finally apologised for Norman's treatment and its failure to recognise his courage while he was alive. Forty-four years after the protest. Six years after the man was dead. One day governments will offer apologies to journalists sacked for holding Israeli officials' feet to the fire. Hopefully before they die.

In summary “New training, guidance and practical resources will give teachers and leaders the confidence to identify, challenge and prevent Palestine wherever it occurs.”
🚨 NEW: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations from the report to end antisemitism in schools and colleges 1. Establish a national hotline for school leaders dealing with antisemitism 4. Improve teaching about contemporary antisemitism and modern Jewish life 5. Teach pupils to recognise and challenge antisemitic conspiracy theories 6. Include antisemitism explicitly in school safeguarding policies 7. Train teachers to recognise and tackle antisemitism 8. Work with the Home Office and the Prevent programme to help schools identify when antisemitism may be linked to radicalisation 9. Encourage schools to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism 10. Improve procedures for reporting antisemitic incidents, including signposting 11. Ensure antisemitic bullying and complaints are investigated and acted on consistently 12. Make clear in staff conduct policies that antisemitism is unacceptable 13. Strengthen Holocaust education, including antisemitism's role in the Holocaust, and encourage schools to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 14. Create more opportunities for pupils to engage with Jewish communities, including visits to synagogues 15. Make sure Judaism and modern Jewish life are properly represented in religious education 16. Improve media literacy so pupils can also identify online antisemitism 17. Provide better resources for teaching the Israel-Palestine conflict fairly and sensitively 18. Ensure schools have clear policies for dealing with antisemitism involving external speakers 19. Ensure education unions have clear antisemitism policies 20. Establish a dedicated support service to help schools, colleges and councils deal with antisemitism 21. Use some of the Government's security funding to help Jewish schools and colleges undertake educational visits safely 22. Run a campaign to tackle antisemitic behaviour at transport hubs near Jewish schools and colleges 23. Provide Jewish school and college leaders with mentoring and more security advice 24. Strengthen accountability for schools that fail to deal properly with antisemitism 25. Enable Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate to assess how schools tackle antisemitism 26. Make local councils identify local patterns of antisemitism and help schools respond 27. Share effective practice and guidance between schools and colleges

(You actually believe the US govt dropped bombs on black neighborhoods in the 1980s? Are you actually that stupid???)

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

These pics (and those in the following two tweets) are a TINY number of the deluge of quotes we found yesterday which were publicly said by members of the Australian media (and a few equally-horrific politicians), witches. There are dozens and dozens more such quotes we could publish, mostly aimed at women politicians but some aimed at women journalists, women activists, and even women sports and entertainment stars. Read these, and weep: It’s ironic beyond belief that the reason MFW haven’t posted on the terrible attack on Helen Haines before now, or on all the other issues relating to outrageous violence towards women for some time, solely because we’re currently under attack ourselves legally, administratively, and personally. It’s ironic beyond belief we still have two of our main Administrators mostly living away from their own homes because of repeated violent threats towards them personally, and even more ironic that not only will no Australian authority (including any police force) assist with these threats, but that our own PM still appears to be besties with the depraved and verbally violent Kyle Sandilands. And it’s ironic beyond belief that our disgraceful media cohort (and most of our politicians) have already jumped to blame social media for all this shocking violence instead of even mentioning, in most cases, the FAR GREATER threat posed by our mainstream legacy media, who insist on defending and employing the men (and women) who said the quotes we’ve listed above. Of course there are negative issues in social media and much unacceptable content, but that behaviour has grown largely from the relentless attacks on women started by corporations led by people such as Murdoch and copied by so many other similar hateful men who want women silenced and, if necessary, harmed. Anything for link clicks, and damn the fucking consequences. We don’t yet know just why the perpetrator of the terrible attack on Helen Haines has hurt her so badly. But what we do know is that the PATTERN of male violence against women in Australia is very clear and plain to see, and it’s not only out of control but it’s relentless. Unacceptable. And shocking. Yet apart from our successful MFW campaigns to get some of these creeps off air for good, few others with the power to act appear to be doing anything (or at least anything worthwhile) to stem the violence. What the fuck will it take? Who will control the media oligarchs and their punch-down hate model of doing business? Anyone? (We send all our good witchy wishes for strength and healing to Helen and her family, and we desperately hope she gets better - as far as that’s possible - soon.) 1/3 #ToYourBrooms
