why is so much of the discussion about the trial centered on Armand and Lestat? CLAUDIA DIED! ClAUDIA WAS LYNCHED IN FRONT OF A JEERING CROWD! Louis almost died, and nearly 80 years later still has rocks in his heels from being tortured.

well someone was making revisions to the script and that person wasn't Lestat I fear #armandhatetwt
lescels when you mention he also participated in the trial and can't lump all of the blame on armand #lestathatetwt

it's important to me that u guys know that it's not possible for a child to consent to having sex with their parent and so yes even in the book Gabrielle molested Lestat
Book Gabrielle did not molest or rape Lestat fyi it’s important to me that u guys know that’s not book accurate nor faithful to Gabrielle’s character

Lestat antis when you tell them that even if you hate him you still need to talk about his sexual trauma in a respectful way
Lestat fans when you tell them AMC’s adaption of Gabrielle was egregious, unfaithful and misogynistic

you're so right. It's actually all a conspiracy. What's going on is those people in the criterion closet videos are being paid off by Big Film to mention Cassavetes, who isn't really that influential or brilliant
OK, I'll bite. If John Cassavetes is so insanely influential and brilliant, why have I not heard about him until recently? I've been on a side-quest with classic and esoteric movies, mostly through the Criterion collection. I've watched dozens of Criterion closet picks from filmmakers and actors I admire. They pick Cassavetes films ALL THE TIME. Probably more than any other director except Scorsese. I haven't seen a single Cassavetes film. I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about a Cassavetes film outside of those videos. I'm not a slouch on film, I've got a pretty wide spread on what I've seen & what I appreciate. How has Cassavetes slipped through that net so completely for so long?

In the recent Bond discussion i saw complaints that old stars had masculine gravitas while today's actors don't ("white kpop singers"), but imo that's too simplistic; old stars were both pretty boys AND rugged icons of masculinity i.e. gregory peck, gary cooper, alain delon, etc
there used to be a time where sexiness meant looking like this and having a passionate affair with ingrid bergman on the sets of a hitchcock film

enmeshment is still incest and grooming it doesn't matter if it's sexual or not. Gabi is still an incestuous groomer in the books the same way Louis is. Sorry about it. You can still like them. It's kinda the entire point that you still like them.
