carnal means relating to the body. The blood drinking and kissing are carnal. They're also erotic.

that's true, the meaning behind the vampire blood kisses changes , but I feel that in the book there is a sensual, erotic component to when Lestat and Gabrielle do it. There are moments of crossing sexual boundaries between at other times as well.

she does touch him. they kiss and drink each other's blood in the books.

did not read what? what you wrote? Lestat cannot consent to the relationship, even in the books, because he is the child and Gabrielle is the parent. That makes it molestation, even in the books.
why is so much of the discussion about the trial centered on Armand and Lestat? CLAUDIA DIED! ClAUDIA WAS LYNCHED IN FRONT OF A JEERING CROWD! Louis almost died, and nearly 80 years later still has rocks in his heels from being tortured.
well someone was making revisions to the script and that person wasn't Lestat I fear #armandhatetwt
lescels when you mention he also participated in the trial and can't lump all of the blame on armand #lestathatetwt
it's important to me that u guys know that it's not possible for a child to consent to having sex with their parent and so yes even in the book Gabrielle molested Lestat

I mean, everything they said to each other in that scene was an insane thing to say to your partner
you're so right. It's actually all a conspiracy. What's going on is those people in the criterion closet videos are being paid off by Big Film to mention Cassavetes, who isn't really that influential or brilliant
OK, I'll bite. If John Cassavetes is so insanely influential and brilliant, why have I not heard about him until recently?
I've been on a side-quest with classic and esoteric movies, mostly through the Criterion collection. I've watched dozens of Criterion closet picks from filmmakers and actors I admire.
They pick Cassavetes films ALL THE TIME. Probably more than any other director except Scorsese. I haven't seen a single Cassavetes film. I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about a Cassavetes film outside of those videos.
I'm not a slouch on film, I've got a pretty wide spread on what I've seen & what I appreciate. How has Cassavetes slipped through that net so completely for so long?

In the recent Bond discussion i saw complaints that old stars had masculine gravitas while today's actors don't ("white kpop singers"), but imo that's too simplistic; old stars were both pretty boys AND rugged icons of masculinity i.e. gregory peck, gary cooper, alain delon, etc
