Excellent analysis! The historical themes repeat and the calcified ruling class is so isolated from the common citizens that they don’t see the coming revolution and civil war! THERE IS NO VESPASIAN WAITING IN THE WINGS TO SAVE THE US!
We are living in Weimar America — and Democrats are ignoring the warnings of their party’s most popular president. rollingstone.com/politics/po…

No you did not. You're not insulin resistant. Or you're not diabetic. One or the other.

Teachers - I’d do EXACTLY what this teacher did (he did ring the emergency button) and recommend you do the same. It is not worth getting harmed when students choose to fight.

These poor people breathing in all those particles. They dont go anywhere. They get stuck in the body and cause health issues and cancer.

Ok now I believe the recycling exists. But I’m more amazed and feel sad for those workers who are possibly only getting paid peanuts for such hardwork.

Fascinating study about cancer and ketones just dropped and it's not quite what you'd expect.
"Doesn’t the glutamine in protein provide fuel for cancer?”
Cancer cells use nutrients but so do the immune cells fighting them.
A new study of mice suggests a ketogenic diet might play a profound role in that fight.
Researchers discovered that ketones boosted gut bacteria that helped supply a molecule called uridine. Working with ketones, uridine activated an immune system alarm inside the tumor cells that caused tumor growth to slow and reduce inflammation in other parts of the body.
Researchers also tested uridine and ketones in lab-grown human tumors and observed the activation of that same alarm pathway.
So what does this have to do with glutamine?
You need glutamine to make uridine.
Could this be assurance to those who are concerned about feeding cancer with a high protein diet?
It's hard to say for sure and the study didn’t test that question but it appears that the same nutrient can support both the tumor and the immune system's response to that tumor... and that glutamine might sometimes be doing more good than harm.
I really hate when a study ends with the comment: More studies are needed.
But I totally agree.
*Disclaimer: If you read my post and you read the study (link below,) you’re going to see that the study doesn’t talk about glutamine.
But I tried to carefully frame references to glutamine in my post as questions or possibilities, not actual findings in the study.

My 19-year-old daughter was fired from her first job at a luxury hotel because she refused to give a wealthy guest her personal phone number. The hotel manager told her, “Customers like him spend more in one evening than you earn in a year. You should learn how to treat important guests.” But when I visited the hotel to collect her belongings, the general manager recognised my daughter and immediately asked why she had been dismissed. What he revealed about the guest left me speechless.
I’m 44, and I live in Atlanta with my husband and our three children.
My daughter, Chloe, is 19 and recently started working as a receptionist at a five-star hotel.
She had always wanted to work in hospitality, and she was excited when she got the job.
She was polite, hardworking and determined to prove herself.
Last Friday, she came home crying.
I asked what happened.
She explained that a wealthy guest had checked into the hotel three days earlier.
He was a regular customer who frequently booked the presidential suite.
On his second evening, he approached the reception desk and asked Chloe for her personal phone number.
She politely declined.
He laughed and said,
“Come on. I’m not asking for your bank details. Just your number.”
She replied,
“I’m sorry, sir. I don’t share my personal contact information with guests.”
The man became irritated.
He complained to the front office manager and accused Chloe of being disrespectful.
The following morning, she was summoned to the manager’s office.
He told her that the guest was an important client and that she needed to apologise.
Chloe explained that she had done nothing wrong.
The manager responded,
“You are here to make guests feel welcome, not to embarrass them.”
She refused to apologise for maintaining her boundaries.
He then terminated her employment for what he described as inappropriate customer service.
I was furious.
My daughter had been dismissed for refusing to give a stranger her private phone number.

Here's a little story about my 5th grade kid. She reads constantly at home, but they still put her in special reading groups. She reads fine. They tell me she can't spell. I start working with her on her spelling for one hour a week. She aces her tests. Her teachers won't teach.

⚠️ The fuel behind the DA and Freedom Front Plus growth among Black People ⚠️
Let’s drop the polite diplomatic speak and state the brutal truth: the ANC didn't just lose power in metros and provinces because of a bad campaign; they bled it through unadulterated greed, incompetence, and systematic looting. They are simply criminals occupying government positions.
When you treat the state like a personal feeding trough, turn public entities into cash cows, tun the country into failed Africa’s rescuer, keep half the population unemployed and force citizens to live through a decade of catastrophic load-shedding and dry taps, people stop caring about historical sentiment. They want survival. The massive migration of votes to the DA and the Freedom Front Plus isn't a betrayal of history; it is a desperate referendum on ANC failure.
The ANC and black leaders need to stop hiding behind the ghost of apartheid. Dead apartheid does not fill a dry tap, fix a collapsed sewage pipe, or secure a hijacked street. When basic governance collapses completely, citizens do not give a damn about the skin color of the leader keeping the lights on versus a corrupt, bribe-taking cadre destroying the infrastructure.
Black South Africans are sick and tired of a black leadership class that uses “struggle credentials” as a shield for pathetic performance. Competence has no race. If you can't keep the country running, pack your bags and get out of the way.
