Some infections in Ghana no longer respond to common antibiotics. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is already here. This affects all of us, not just doctors. Here’s what you need to know and how you can help. #AMRAwarenessWeek #AMR #GhanaHealth

I have bowed out gracefully from all social tug of wars with my current affirmative that states “if I have to question you, I have my answer”
I’m tired of human relationships turning into a chess match that requires strategic moves.

Chimamanda was right, men and women do not have the same shared experiences and social advantages. It's very evident in how visible transwomen are in entertainment, politics and social issues. Transmen do not have the same visibility and it's because they are women!
Finally being firm in my stance against the transgender ideology particularly "transwomen" Women just started getting rights and it's really unfair to watch their private spaces and social positions get invaded. I support third spaces but there is no man who can become a woman.

It’s so crazy to me that there’s a whole discourse about pidgin, and if any of the people mocking Ghanaian pidgin knew a thing or two, they’d realize that pidgin is as unique to a particular people as the sun is to the sky.

The current climate of feminism has become one where women lose opportunties and kicked out of feminist spaces for saying woman is an adult female human. What a joke. Maybe the FEM in your feminism is for Davido or DJ YK Mule. For me and mine, my feminism is for women and girls?

It's the church. The church has demonized most of our traditional practices and still refuses to recognize a traditional wedding as a standard, official marriage. Historically, a real Ghanaian traditional wedding was simple: you find a lady you like, speak with her, and proceed to meet her family to 'knock.' Once accepted, you return with the bride price for her family which traditionally consisted of a few pieces of traditional cloth, local drinks, and a few modest gifts. The ceremony was officiated strictly by the family heads. There was no exchange of rings; libations were poured, the couple was blessed, everyone feasted, and the couple went home as husband and wife. Now, due to cultural assimilation, even our traditional wedding style has been compromised. Brides' families present long lists that include Bibles, rings, and other items that were never meant to be part of the tradition. Even though a family head officiates, pastors are often brought in to preside over the traditional ceremony. The pouring of libation has been demonized, so it is frequently omitted. Even our traditional clothing has been altered to fit Western aesthetics, making every bride look the same. From heavily beaded kente to exaggerated silhouettes and mandatory frontal wigs, traditional style has lost its original character to the point where brides wearing their natural hair or braids are bullied online. To make matters worse, most churches refuse to view a traditional wedding as complete because they cannot profit from it. They insist on a church ceremony presided over by a pastor so the church can collect venue fees alongside the first and second offertories, leaving the couple with whatever remains in the third offertory. Finally, almost everything purchased for the white/church wedding is imported: the gown, tuxedo, shoes, watches, wigs, makeup, rings, decorations, Bibles, and sometimes even the catered food. Even when items are assembled locally, the raw materials are foreign. Until we realize that these borrowed practices export our wealth to foreign markets, couples will continue to go into deep debt just to get married. You can argue all you like but this is the simple truth.
But Africa be funny oo 😂. You’ll have your traditional wedding, then turn around and have the white man’s traditional wedding too. 😂😂

Any practice of religion that is insensitive and inconsiderate is false.
“It’s 2 o’clock. Why don’t you want us to sleep?” — An elderly man angrily confronts church members holding a prayer session in his neighbourhood over noise disturbance, but they ignore him and continue praying, insisting that he is possessed by the devil.

“Beauty with brains” is a misogynistic backhanded compliment that implies the two words are mutually exclusive. “Black beauty” does the same thing but with a colorist context added to the misogyny. I beg you people to just sit and have deep thoughts sometimes. Avoid shallowness

“Why should we be held accountable for what our forefathers did?” But the entire country you currently enjoy was built on “spoils” from your forefathers’ colonialism and thievery. You want to have nothing to do with colonialism, but you’re a beneficiary of colonialism.

This has nothing to do with hating men. Feminist or not, NO TEENAGE GIRL should be talking about liking or hating men, romantically. The safety of the child, boy or girl, comes first. Why is she talking about men? What happened to school, WAEC, jamb?
Una. If she was a feminist hating men, you'd not say she's not old enough to have the opinion
