Sorry for my far left opinion, but every job should pay a living wage that allows people to actually live. If someone works at KFC, they should be able to pay their bills, meet their basic needs, and still save money, because that is what work is for.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

If you’re a man saying you’ve never seen other men say horrifying things about women and sexual assault I implore you to go to one singular open mic
You’re not protecting women and girls.
You’re abusing those you deem other and putting cis women and girls in danger as well.
Demonising our healthcare, normalising abusive language and portraying it as some form of “justice” is pure evil.
You have blood on your hands.

Today, I’m recommending four essential works by physicist Robert L. Forward, renowned for his rigorous hard SF.
Dragon’s Egg (1980): The sesame-seed-sized alien cheela living on the 67-billion-g surface of a neutron star experience time roughly a million times faster than humans, evolving from savagery to overtaking humanity technologically in a single day.
Starquake (1985): The sequel to Drago’s Egg sees the cheela threatened by a catastrophic star quake, leaving human scientists orbiting above with only a day to save them.
Rocheworld (1984): An interstellar ship encounters an alien species living on a bizarre contact-binary world whose two lobes share an atmosphere and a common ocean. :
Camelot 30K (1993): An expedition to a planetoid in the Kuiper Belt establishes first contact with the keracks, an alien species adapted to a world with a surface temperature just 30 degrees above absolute zero.
