If you're a chief executive on a telephone number salary, at least have the grace not to complain about the taxes that fund the benefits your workers have to claim because you refuse to pay them enough to live on

The central belt is fairly getting rattled with this storm. Some scary gusts throughout the night and this morning. No it’s not the Forth & Clyde canal this is the Argyle line under water at Dalmarnock Credit NR/X

The full force of #StormBoelo hits Largs. Businessowner Toni Dawson of Geraldo's said: "We are trying to protect our businesses from this disaster but we can't even get into our shops right now - god knows how much stock we have lost."

It’s that time of the year again where all the extra plinths get placed in front of shelving for Xmas, which coupled with general poor & thoughtless management of shop floor space means that unless you can shape shift you are royally #DisabledByTheSupermarkets

Sainsbury's has posted an annual profit of £1.02bn. It current has 10,000 young people working for free, paid by you. With £1.02bn it could hire 105,905 people aged 18-20 for 16 hours a week all year. Why not MAKE the scumbags hire instead of giving them free workers?

On this day in 1971, on a typical rainy October afternoon with shoppers wandering the length of the shopping parade at Clarkston Toll, a blast killed 22 people and injured 100 more in Scotland's worst peace-time explosion. 📷 Newsquest

Literally a Year ago @andyburnham sat with @MassiveAttackUK and signed the Fossil Fuel non-proliferation treaty "to end, coal, oil and gas and hold polluters accountable" Today he has just signed off a brand new Gas-field in the North Sea. Shameful #Jackdaw fossilfueltreaty.org/massive…

Ahead of Commons statement on Jackdaw, Energy Minister Michael Shanks has to take lengthy scolding from Speaker Lindsay Hoyle over media leaks, and the fact Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh is in Aberdeen, not in front of MPs "shameful... no excuse... Sky News more important"

Here's the Brit nationalist 'Better Together' oil tycoon Ian Wood on TV 2014 telling Scots 'we have some oil in the shale and rocks, but it's not economically exploitable'. BBC Scotland said all oil gone by 2019. In 2023 'UK' is dependent on Scotland's huge reserves #YouYesYet?

Housing support should reflect the cost of rent. But it doesn't. And it's pushing people to food banks. Join us in calling on the Prime Minister to reconnect housing support with local rents so that nobody is forced to choose between paying the rent and buying food.

Sadly, I don’t think the @ITV exposé will move the needle. People support @reformparty_uk BECAUSE it’s a racist party. It needs racism to exist. Reform legitimises racism and turns it into a “political view”. Hatred should never have been given a home in mainstream discourse

"Devolution was never meant to stop at Holyrood." What does that even mean? Labour introduced devolution, and were in charge for the first eight years. Did they not do what they were "meant" to do? Why not?
Devolution was never meant to stop at Holyrood. The PM is right to offer to work with the Scottish Government to push power out into Scotland’s regions. That must include the Highlands and Islands where we have felt the impact of SNP centralisation over the last two decades.
