Thrilled to announce @positron_ai's $875M Series C at a $5B valuation! This round was co-led by @NEA, @Atreidesmgmt (@GavinSBaker), @valor (@AntonioGracias), @AndraCapital, @SemiAnalysis_ Capital (@dylan522p), and Jim Clark (Founder of SGI and Netscape). An incredible group to have backing what we’re building. Also very happy to have strategic backing from VentureTech Alliance, Hudson River Trading, Cisco Investments, and Naver Ventures, alongside continued support from @Arm , @jumptrading , @dfjgrowth, Qatar Investment Authority, and many more. What I’m most excited about is what this lets us do next. We’re deploying more than 50 racks of Atlas at @OracleCloud, and this financing funds our next-generation Asimov chip’s tapeout, the production ramp for Titan, and the manufacturing capacity to meet the demand ahead of us. The goal remains simple: make running AI dramatically cheaper and more energy efficient. A huge thank you to the entire Positron team, especially @mitesh711 and @kmett, our customers, partners, and investors. Building hardware takes an enormous amount of work, and I couldn’t be more proud of this team. We have a lot ahead of us, and I can’t wait to share more.

Very happy to be working with @FPuklowski and @GoodisonJason at @general_compute for massive scale disaggregated compute at leading speeds and the best TCO!
Our heterogeneous cloud just got better. We're announcing a cluster scale deployment of @positron_ai as our next partner. We believe demand for fast inference will outstrip supply for the next decade. Our bet on Positron is another step towards getting fast inference for opensource models into builders' hands. Hardware goes live Q1 2027. Thanks to @mitesh711, @trsohmers and the whole Positron team! We're excited for this partnership. LFG!

"Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence… has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all." — Isaac Asimov (namesake of my company's next-generation product) Some people in my tech/startup/AI circle who've never heard of Stargate ask why I care so much, and why yesterday's post got far more attention than usual. I first saw SG-1 at ~6 and was hooked. It's the one thing I can point to that shaped how I think about leadership, science, and what it means to be good at what you do. Hammond trusted his people and put his career on the line to protect them. O'Neill showed you can be irreverent and still deeply principled: you never leave your people behind. I still measure myself against both. Carter and Daniel made being the smartest person in the room look like the coolest thing in the world; problems were solved by thinking harder, not shooting harder. Add Teal'c's integrity, and you had a team where everyone was competent, nobody was made dumb for plot convenience, and capable people disagreed, respected each other, and had each other's backs. That's why I opened with Asimov (whose words also appear in SG-1's 200th episode). Good science fiction matters. It gave a 6-year-old role models I'm still trying to live up to. If you build things for a living and haven't seen it, start with SG-1. Thank you to the cast, crew, writers, and creators behind nearly 30 years of Stargate. @AmazonMGMStudio, please give it the care it deserves. #SaveStargate @bradtravelers @BaronDestructo @MichaelShanks @afullcirclepod @dial_the_gate
If anyone has connections at Amazon, I think someone from the engineering/business side needs to step in to prevent Prime/MGM from killing a golden franchise. I’m seriously going to be telling my AWS account rep that I’m going to take my ~$40M and growing to $100M in business to Azure or GCP if they are going to ruin this.

While it is harsh and unfair to judge something solely based on the little information so far, I have very little faith in their announced writer/show runner based on her track record. Amazon/MGM announced at the end of last year Martin Gero as showrunner for a continuation in the same universe as SG1, Atlantis, and Universe with a writers room full of the original creators and writers, and then suddenly cancelled that just as they were about to start production. I’m not particularly excited about any Stargate production that does not take the over 250 hours of legacy, character development, lore, that made SG1 and its descendants the greatest science fiction franchise… and the best way to ensure that is good is to use the cast and crew that made 17+ years of fantastic storytelling.

My favorite arcade game, Discs of Tron, running on the OpenAI DevDay edition @modretro Chromatic… implemented fully in the reprogrammable logic of the FPGA, done 100% one shot by Codex GPT 6 Astra. Thanks @pvncher and @PalmerLuckey!

Had a great time talking with @HarryStebbings on his @20vcFund podcast about the economics of AI inference, pacing the frontier, and why we are building @positron_ai to increase the efficiency, lower the costs, and expand access to the benefits of AI technology for all. youtu.be/6ohZuFkq-aU?is=KQ_n…

Very fascinating to see the 75% of the @positron_ai LPDDR value story be articulated by a newly popular anon account @0xBADB01E. Great to see the positive reaction to the ideas and in general first principals thinking… and Positron will be showing it in reality in the not too distant future!

Enter: @positron_ai and the ability to get better than HBM realized performance at massive capacity with commodity LPDDR memory…
Preview of intro and table of contents. HBM is a dumb solution for I/O issue. Correct solution (optics driven by clock-forwarded SerDes) can use LPDDR or DDR.

It has been excellent working with the @luminal_ai team and @joefioti!
We've integrated the Luminal compiler on Positron AI chips. Our first major non-GPU compiler target is Positron Atlas, a bandwidth-focused inference accelerator.

Positron shipped their first AI chip in 18 months and landed Oracle in under 3 years. chip startup to oracle customer in 3 years. most take way longer than that. #startup #chips #oracle #ai #tech #entrepreneur
