So the guy who murdered the jogger in Brooklyn worked as a Teacher's Aide in the NYC Public School System after Psych Discharge from the Marines and being rejected fr returning to NYPD! Do they not run background checks? Is this reflective of the hiring practices of NYC Schools? Are these the people that will be hired for Pre-K 2? So glad they found the killer, but WTF!!!

How did we go from 9/11 to a society where young people think Islamism is some hippie religion where it's just about being nice or whatever? Has everyone literally gone insane?
This woman would be dead if she did even 5 seconds of this dance in the streets of Tehran.

If you don't want to do an interview, say no comment and walk off. He grabbed the reporter by both shoulders and clapped in his face like he was talking to a child who couldn't keep up. You don't treat someone like that unless you think they're beneath you.
And the reason he gave was that Sky viewers can't vote for him. He's going to be voting on wars, trade and foreign policy that affect people well outside Michigan, so he should be able to handle a question from a foreign journalist without putting his hands on him.
If a Republican had done exactly the same thing, a lot of the people making excuses for this would be calling it intimidation.
Michigan's Democratic candidate for Senate Abdul El-Sayed confronted @jamesmatthewsky, telling him he wouldn't answer his questions as he wants "zero" votes in the UK.

This speech is proof that there is no serious Islamophobia in America.
One cannot imagine a Jewish candidate, even a religious one, leaning so hard on Hebrew and religion in a speech for national office. it would be electoral suicide. Everyone would scream "dual loyalty" and "not really an American." It is inconceivable.
Yet a Muslim Senator-elect leans into it as the basis of his identity, arguably ABOVE being an American.
There might be some bigotry against Muslims in the US, but this speech itself proves that antisemitism is far more ingrained.

I hate to drag on but it's kind of funny to now honour the sandstone
I'm not hallucinating when I say the whole virtue signalling land ack thing is getting more and more ridiculous
Only like 9mo ago it was just a Land Ack when you joined the library WiFi. Now they gotta honour the material constituents of the library too

Australia is about to get its big report on hate and extremism, and the Muslim Brotherhood is still not in the room. The royal commission set up after the Bondi massacre heard 348 witnesses over 62 days, read more than 20,000 submissions, and hands in its final report on 18 December, yet the Brotherhood sits on NEITHER the terrorist list nor the new hate group list, and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says only ASIO can start a listing, not a minister.
So the minister waits for ASIO, and the network waits for nobody. A warning published this weekend says Australia could become the next place Brotherhood money goes as Europe tightens its rules.
Forty five days, Canberra. I'm counting.
BTW, the Muslim Brotherhood is banned in the UAE.

He is not controversial in any sense, he encourages peaceful coexistence and calls for dialogue with other religions.

imagine if someone suggested cramming all these people onto the pavements to make space for motor traffic down the middle
Utterly convinced the "I love winter and the clocks going back. Give me cosy nights under warm blankets with a pumpkin spice hot chocolate with rain lashing the windows and a £700 gas bill" people are just people who don't leave the house and they like feeling less bad about it.
It's the same pretty much everywhere with rent controls. A story from Berlin:
True in Spain too. Every landlord in Madrid and Barcelona screens the renters now. This is an obvious consequence of rent control. The most vulnerable, ostensible protected by the legislation, are in fact excluded from the rental market: if you cannot be evicted for non payment, then you are too risky a renter.
