After many years of waiting (for me) my wife and myself went on Safari in Zimbabwe. The concession was located in the Zambezi valley and bordered Lake Kariba. Sorta the northwestern side of the country, towards Zambia. We had the time of our lives and are already trying to figure out how soon we can go back. I have quite a few photos, not just of what I was hunting for, but some of the many animals we also saw, the various terrain, our accommodations, etc. I’m going to start this thread with a few posts which include the animals I primarily went there to hunt (Cape Buffalo and Hippo for dangerous game) as well as some other scenic photos. If there is interest in more photos, I’ll post more. If y’all have questions feel free to ask, I’m no expert as this was my first time in Africa, let alone hunting in Africa but I’ll do my best to answer them. It’s hard to say that something that you’ve been looking forward to doing since I was a kid and finally got a chance to exceeded expectations but this did.
The vistas were amazing to say the least. After some hard days hunting I was rewarded with a great “dugga boy”, as old bull Cape Buffalo are known. There is a picture of me and my wife, and then with our game scout, head tracker, and assistant tracker.
I really hope we actually learned something

Anne Arundel County, Maryland, explicitly gives undocumented households priority for taxpayer-funded housing assistance covering rent, utility bills, security deposits and moving costs.
The county’s published rules identify priority households as including:
“those with undocumented or mixed immigration/citizenship status.”
That language appears directly on the county government’s application page. Other priority categories include homelessness, eviction proceedings and disconnected utilities.
The Community Schools Rental Assistance Program can pay for:
• Overdue rent.
• Electricity, gas, water and internet bills.
• Security deposits and first month’s rent.
• Moving expenses.
• Certain late fees and eviction-related court fees.
Maryland’s official FAQ says proof of citizenship is not required. Eligible households can receive repeat assistance, including up to three months of future rent or utilities at a time, with an overall maximum of 15 months.
Governor Wes Moore’s office says the statewide program’s FY2027 budget increased from $5 million to $11 MILLION.
Anyone got ideas what Linux distros they may be referring to?
Replying to @clangnosis @anduriltech
Yes. Palmer Luckey has stated that BlueChip prototypes currently run Windows plus two Linux flavors popular with the US military (to validate drivers and apps, including Lattice). Customers can also receive units without an OS to install their own. No specific distro names have been disclosed.

An excellent piece from @vhmichel for @Milenio discussing the importance that digital forensics plays when it comes to drones.
Cartels will continue to utilize drones for illicit activities, but seized drones & their components can provide some key information in stopping them.

Pro tip: always map the wells or other hazards.
One of my favorite 'whoops' stories from Afghanistan was losing a guy to a pit of darkness during a snap night raid. His team was up front to set up support by fire, my team was the assault element rolling the target up. He had a SAW and 1k rounds. During the movement in he fell into a well (they're just holes in the ground) and dropped about 30ft or so into the water. We pulled him out with the tube nylon runs we all carried.
He made it out, we still rolled the target up.

GRGs always have a shelf life. That's why we build them, revise them, and tailor them to mission specific data. At least, that was a critical part of the mission planning process in RC-S.
Anything for a visa
Ya'll, this is nuts.
Hundreds - that's right, HUNDREDS - of armed robberies between 2022 and 2024 weren't real.
They were staged by the "victims" as part of a massive immigration fraud scheme to secure U-visas for themselves and their families.

REVEALED: Millions in California government funding was went to a farm-relief program that explicitly prioritizes “BIPOC, immigrant, and undocumented farmers.”
The California Farmer Relief Fund and its operator, Community Alliance with Family Farmers, says it distributed $3.08 million in state CUSP grants through the fund between 2022 and 2025.
Those grants offered up to $20,000 for expenses including wells, utility bills, irrigation upgrades and crop losses.

Ukrainian company TAF Industries, based in Kyiv, has released an upgraded version of the Kolibri 13″ FR1 relay carrier, Militarnyi reported from the Future Forces Forum in the Czech Republic.
The main change is digital communication between the operator and the carrier, with control commands and video now on a single digital channel. This improves crew safety, as the digital video feed cannot be intercepted to locate pilots, according to the company.
The repeater module transmits control commands to FPV strike drones and is available in configurations with different frequency bands, including 6000–7200 MHz and 7000–8000 MHz for longer ranges.
The link to the strike drone remains analog for now, though a fully digital version is in development. A horn antenna in the nose filters radio noise for cleaner video. The modular platform has been codified and is eligible for purchase with e-Points. Demand is high, with orders booked two months ahead.

May the bloodthirsty warmongers, who push for a war that never ends, burn in hell!
Elon Musk warned about the Ukraine war years ago, and it's absolutely tragic how accurately he predicted the devastating cost of human lives from this conflict
Back in October 2022, Elon didn't just call for peace. He actually proposed a peace plan involving UN-supervised votes in occupied regions, recognizing Crimea as Russian, guaranteeing its water supply, and Ukraine remaining neutral
He warned that continuing this war would bring devastating death and destruction, with countless young Ukrainians and Russians losing their lives
And look at what's happened since then
More than 2 MILLION military casualties, entire cities destroyed, millions of people forced from their homes, and the war is still going on with no lasting peace
Elon faced enormous backlash for proposing a path toward peace, but the human cost he warned about has become an absolutely horrifying reality
And that's what makes this so tragic. These are human beings with parents, families, loved ones, and entire lives ahead of them, not disposable pieces on some geopolitical chessboard
How many more young people have to die in trenches before ending this endless slaughter becomes just as important as deciding who wins the war?
Elon saw the devastating human cost of a prolonged war coming years ago, and instead of taking his warning seriously, people attacked him for even putting a peace proposal on the table
Just imagine how many lives could have been saved if a lasting peace had been reached years earlier
How much more death and destruction will it take before ending this meat grinder becomes the priority??

You open a terminal and type ssh user@server through Tor. You expect the exit relay to be a simple last hop that dumps your encrypted packets onto the open internet. For three days in early October, on 333 of those exits, that assumption was wrong.
Tor has roughly 3,000 exit relays. The attacker controlled about 10% of them. Those relays were reconfigured so that any SSH connection on port 22 was silently redirected to one of 12 interception servers the attacker operated. The exit no longer forwarded the connection to the real server. It completed the TCP handshake itself and presented its own SSH host key.
If you ignored the “REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED” warning and typed your password anyway, the interceptor captured the password, watched every command you typed, and then opened a second connection to the real server to try to install Ebury 1.8.3 (an old OpenSSH backdoor and credential stealer). The researcher who discovered this used exitmap to scan the exits and a honeypot to confirm the interception servers were speaking Paramiko.
At the same time the exits were altered to block the common encrypted mail ports (25, 465, 587, 993, 995) while still allowing the unencrypted ones. The goal was to force or capture plaintext email traffic as it left the Tor network.
The initial foothold appears to have come from a reused password on a management server in late August, after which Ebury was installed and the configuration changes were pushed. The Tor Network Health team began flagging the relays BadExit on 4 October; by 5 October the malicious exits were gone from the consensus.
The interesting part is not that someone ran a bad exit. It is that the attacker turned ordinary Linux hosts into exits by editing their torrc files and then used the exit position itself as the man-in-the-middle point. The cryptography of the circuit still protected you from the middle relays. The moment your traffic left the network, the exit could see (and modify) the cleartext stream if the application protocol allowed it.
Treating “I am using Tor” as a single security property. Exit-node compromise shows it is actually two: the circuit hides you from the destination, and the exit is assumed not to be actively hostile to the specific protocol you are speaking. For three days, roughly one in ten exits violated the second assumption for SSH and email.
Host-key verification and key-based authentication stop the SSH half. The email half is harder; once the exit is the one talking to the mail server, encrypted ports can simply be dropped. The practical reminder is the same one that keeps appearing in physical-layer attacks: the model assumes the last device or the last hop behaves the way the protocol designer expected. When it does not, the higher-layer protections never get the chance to run.
Why did this loophole ever exist?
BREAKING: DHS announces via federal register that Secretary Mullin is closing a Biden-era loophole that allowed Chinese nationals to travel to the Northern Mariana Islands without a visa for 14 days, which four GOP Senators alleged was facilitating Chinese birth tourism. Senators @SenMikeLee, @votetimscott, @SenBillCassidy, & @JohnCornyn had written a letter to Mullin in April, urging him to close the loophole, which Mullin has now done.
Via the notice:
“The Secretary has broad authority to suspend the program for good cause,
including threats to national security, law enforcement interests, and immigration enforcement. The Secretary has determined that there is good cause to suspend EVS-
TAP, while DHS, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of the Interior, evaluates the program.”
