PLEASE don’t judge any teenagers trick or treating. Let them hold onto any innocence this world hasn’t stole from them.

You actually are not morally obligated to make your art services financially accessible to absolutely everyone. It is not unethical, entitled, or egotistical in the slightest.
Offering a selection of low ticket products/services is great! But not a moral obligation.

One art fundamental you'd normally learn in school is the longer you draw and paint the more things shift around. A tiny mark on a face, angling the brows can completely change their expression, a finger gets nudged, and as you render you can lose the base structure underneath.

So much of trying to unlearn perfectionism in art is about “No one will look that closely at your details/mistakes” and in the age of ai it’s just no longer true and that makes me unbelievably sad

This should have been a moment for the community to reflect on their own rates and realize they are most likely underpricing their work instead of dunking on someone who has been setting their commission rate however they see fit for them.
We can be better, we need to be better.

Eric Bauza's family is directly asking for donations to be sent to their Saturday Morning Cartoons United charity to help with expenses and navigating these difficult times, please donate or spread the word 💛 Link in the replies

I say this in support of artists: a lot of artists are incredibly good at creating art, but terrible at the business of selling it.
And I don't mean that as an insult. The reality is that many artists have little to no formal training in business. They're expected to figure everything out themselves, often through trial and error.
Market research, identifying target audiences, positioning, pricing strategies, understanding perceived value, negotiating contracts, managing client relationships, customer acquisition, marketing, sales, licensing, intellectual property rights, payment terms, profit margins, cash flow, handling revisions, setting boundaries and knowing when to walk away from a bad deal.
These are all legitimate business skills. Entire careers are built around mastering them.
Yet we somehow expect artists to know all of this simply because they're good at drawing.
So yes, greater transparency around industry pricing would help tremendously. But I think the bigger conversation should be about teaching artists how to actually run a business.
There's a major skill gap between the art twitter I used to know and the one it is now. Like wooow. This is art twitter now? Seriously? A bunch of children bullying and harassing professionals? Laughable. Yall already not getting jobs and now probably blacklisted too

Is it just me or is drawing full bodies really fun UNTIL it’s just a normal standing up pose or anything close to that
Yeah ideally I wish more people where willing recognize SP is very politically centrist, very liberal at best. I was like a sliigtly progressive tween in 2008 and realized these things even if I didnt had the language to express it, so is bizarre many ppl TODAY think SP was woke.

Heartbreaking beyond words.
The world has normalised the suffering of Gaza children.

Parents please note this is how you help your kids on track. Monitoring, helping, encouraging and congratulating when they get on track is super important.

No , because the imps are mostly up to interpretation , in terms of age . Some could be kids , some are not . They're gremlins either way .

twitter used to be THE primary place for networking akin to a freelancer LinkdIn and getting cooperate gigs for many artists, but now its become a place where beginners devalue the own work and non-artists bitching about prices. twitter is not artist friendly anymore

Congolese endure terror & displacement while global tech giants profit from the minerals beneath their land. When violence forces families to flee, who gains access to their homes & resources? Their grief is not a business model. The world must demand accountability

Just watched an immigration court hearing for a detained 15 yr old that started out with the judge asking about his Halloween plans & ended with her ordering him deported.
The lack of justice for immigrant kids right now in our immigration courts is stunningly diabolical.

the "megan was born a man" conspiracy is the most obvious campaign to lead people down the alt-right pipeline. it has almost every form of hate in it: misogynoir, trans panic, women can't be naturally athletic, body negativity, red pill/incel culture. fuck that.
