No kidding those RSN fees paid by cable ops used to be huge. Now with companies merging left and right and even close to bankrupt @AlticeUSA the former Cablevision of Charles Dolan infamy … the business is sunk.

New York, I have a serious question. How much longer are we going to tolerate this? Look at these election maps. An overwhelming majority of New York’s geography votes Republican, yet Democratic strongholds in densely populated cities determine statewide elections. That’s how representative democracy works. I understand the arithmetic. What I refuse to accept is political power without measurable accountability. I come from Buffalo, New York, where Democrats have controlled City Hall for decades. Yet we continue confronting abysmal educational proficiency, generational poverty, struggling neighborhoods, and economic stagnation. Where are the results? I’m tired of politicians celebrating electoral victories while the communities they represent continue struggling. I’m tired of political loyalty being mistaken for progress. And I’m particularly tired of the sophistry that questioning Democratic leadership somehow means betraying the Black community. I don’t care how many elections your party wins. Show me what you’ve accomplished for the people who entrusted you with power. Show me the educational improvements. Show me the economic mobility. Show me the neighborhoods that have genuinely recovered. And don’t hand me another press release announcing how much taxpayer money you’ve spent. Spending is an input. Improved lives are the outcome. I’ve reached a conclusion. Complaining isn’t enough anymore. It’s time for me to do something about it. New York deserves accountability, and I’m prepared to start demanding it publicly, systematically, and relentlessly. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks

I detest RINOs like Thune more than socialists like AOC. At least she has the guts to tell you her stupid ideas. Swamp rats like Thune will pretend to be on your side and then knife you in the back. Republicans like Thune are the lowest form of politician.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune will seek a second term as the chamber's top Republican despite election losses that cost the party control of Congress, setting him apart from House Speaker Mike Johnson, who is stepping aside from leadership.

Now do people killed by illegal aliens.
Let’s be clear about what's happened: a child died of a disease we know how to prevent, after years of purposeful effort to convince parents that vaccines are more dangerous than measles. That’s a lie, and it’s a deadly one. I’m grieving for this family and furious that we’re here. nytimes.com/2026/11/02/nyreg…

You cannot save America without removing judges. Bukele didn’t save El Salvador by building a prison. He saved it by removing the judges. The judges are the shield of the revolution.

This is a tough one to process. He had been in and out of the hospital during the summer, but it still hurts to realize that the winningest left handed pitcher in the history of the New York Mets, their greatest “money pitcher”, the man who won two games in the 1969 World Series including the clinching game five, and always the life of the party is gone. What an honor to have known him and called him a friend. He was as tough as they come. Rest easy, number 36. You will be missed, but lovingly remembered. RIP.
We are saddened to share the news that Jerry Koosman has passed away. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family.

POLONIA, NOTTE DEL 30 OTTOBRE: QUESTO È IL BIVIO DELL’EUROPA. Mia analisi personale. Opinione personale di ✒️©Sabrina F. Let's be clear: Christianity built Western civilization. Not as a vague cultural backdrop. As the actual engine. It all comes down to one sentence: "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Think about what that implies. Truth exists. Truth is one. Truth is knowable. And seeking it isn't rebellion against God. It's worship. "In the beginning was the Logos." Reason. If the universe was created by a rational mind, then the universe is rational. It follows laws. And those laws can be discovered. Most civilizations never made that leap. Nature was a battlefield of capricious gods to appease, or an eternal cycle going nowhere, or an illusion to escape. Why would you study the laws of something you don't believe has laws? Christians believed otherwise. So monks preserved ancient knowledge for a thousand years. The Church gave birth to the university. The Benedictines said "pray and work," turned labor into something sacred, and spread water mills across Europe. Monasteries built some of the first mechanical clocks. Then came the scientists. Copernicus was a church canon. Kepler said he was thinking God's thoughts after Him. Newton wrote more about theology than physics. Mendel was a friar. Lemaître, the father of the Big Bang theory, was a Catholic priest. They weren't scientists despite their faith. They were scientists because of it. Add two more ideas. Time is linear: history has a beginning and is going somewhere, so progress becomes thinkable. And every human is made in the image of God: individual dignity, individual conscience, the worth of the craftsman and the worker. Put it all together. An intelligible universe. A sacred duty to seek truth. The belief that tomorrow can be better than today. The dignity of work and of every single person. That's the recipe. Science, then technology, then the Industrial Revolution. It happened in Christian Europe. Not by accident. We are still living off the interest of that capital. The real question is what happens when we stop believing in the things that produced it.

Just had the privilege of reading the pilot episode of Inferno. I want to say something very profound and writerly, but fuck that. I enjoyed the hell out of it. (Pun intended) I know whatever comes next will be dark, funny and insightful. Thanks @daniel_knauf

George Washington did sign a deal to end the Revolution. It was called the Treaty of Paris, and it established America’s boundaries and water rights, handled war debts, allowed for return of prisoners of war, provided restitution for property, and even gave the British the right to navigate the Mississippi River. That’s how wars end. Mitt Romney doesn’t know this, because Romneys don’t fight wars. Romneys either flee to Europe or stay home and get rich while better men fight wars for them. The Romneys never saw a war they weren’t willing to dodge while demanding better men fight it for them.
Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just “done a deal” with Hitler. George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.

“Before President Trump came along, you went to work every day you, worked in an office or a construction site, or as an electrician, or as an accountant, whatever your career was, and you worked every single day to provide for yourself, your family, your loved ones, to send your tax dollars to the state of California, to the federal government, to do what?" "To pay for people that are robbing us blind, that are looting us, pillaging us, plundering us. People like Nick exposed, they came here from Somalia, been living here for a year or two, they say I’m going to open up a fake daycare. I’ll tell Keith Ellison, I’ll tell Governor Walz I’m taking care of 200 kids. Send me a check for $30 million. What do they do? They buy Mercedes, they buy BMWs, they buy a mansion, they buy a nice house. All their kids fly first class all over the world. They are living the high life." "Well, you, the American citizen, who’s worked your entire life and done it the right way, you paid every parking ticket you ever had, are funding that lifestyle." "That’s what the Democrat Party did to you. And their plan is they want to bring in another 10, 20, 30 million more people to loot you and rob you and take everything you have. President Trump is the one leader in American history who stood up and said this isn’t going to happen anymore. We’re going to protect our taxpayers." "We’re going to protect our citizens. The looting will stop. The pillaging will stop. The robbing will stop. And it’s actually happening. And I, as a citizen, not just as a staffer, but as a citizen, am endlessly grateful to this president for having the courage to do what no American president has ever done before." @StephenM is absolutely right. There has been no other president except for Donald Trump who has given a damn about the massive fraud that has been going on in our government. That is because America's "political class" is just a bunch of fraudsters who only care about getting itself rich at our expense. They never gave a damn about taxpayers. They never gave a damn about the middle class. They never gave a damn about our insurmountable debt. They only care about themselves. The looters and the grifters need to pay. It is time to cut them all off.

98% of the power structure in the country vehemently opposes Trump. That includes the news and entertainment media and the political and judicial class. I’m still not understanding how opposing Trump is standing up to power.
