Booked a bus from Bengaluru to Hyderabad on RedBus, paid extra for their so-called On-Time Guarantee. The promise? If the bus is delayed by more than an hour at the drop-off point, you get 50% of the ticket fare back, up to ₹500. The bus arrived almost 1.5 hours late. When I raised a claim, RedBus rejected it saying the bus operator had cited heavy traffic. Seriously? If traffic is a valid reason to reject the claim, then under what circumstances does this guarantee actually apply? Isn’t traffic one of the most obvious reasons for a bus getting delayed? What’s the point of charging customers extra for an add-on that apparently comes with every possible excuse to deny the benefit? This isn’t an On-Time Guarantee. It’s a marketing gimmick to extract extra money from passengers. My advice: Don’t waste your money on these add-on guarantees. Save yourself the disappointment. @redBus_in
