Bitch, moan and shift the blame to "the shorts" like a little girl for losing your ass because you were too stupid to sell when everyone else was. Here's a history lesson:
The hedge fund that smelled the Enron fraud from a mile away and helped blow the lid off it was Jim Chanos and his firm Kynikos Associates. Chanos started shorting Enron hard in late 2000 after reading their filings and realizing the numbers were absolute fairy-tale garbage (off-balance-sheet debt, mark-to-model nonsense, etc.).
He laid out the whole scam at conferences, talked to Fortune reporter Bethany McLean, and basically handed her the story that became the famous February 2001 article “Is Enron Overpriced?” That piece was the first domino. Once it dropped, the house of cards collapsed fast.
Yeah, a short-selling hedge fund was the one that actually exposed Enron, not the SEC, not the analysts, not the auditors. Funny how that part gets forgotten when people scream “all hedge funds evil.”
Here's a list of some of the biggest, cleanest hits where short sellers (mostly hedge funds) did the actual detective work and forced the fraud into the open, way before regulators or journalists caught on:
Luckin Coffee (2020)
Muddy Waters (Carson Block) dropped a 90-page anonymous report proving Luckin was fabricating 70%+ of its sales. Stock cratered 90% in days. Luckin later admitted it faked $310M in revenue. SEC/DOJ fines, delisting, execs charged.
Wirecard (2019–2020)
Multiple shorts (especially Dan McCrum at FT + various funds) hammered the “German PayPal” for years over fake cash balances in Asia. Wirecard called McCrum a criminal, sued everyone, got German regulators to investigate the shorts instead. Turns out €1.9 billion was just fucking missing. Company went bankrupt in weeks, biggest German corporate fraud since WWII.
Valeant Pharmaceuticals (2015)
Bill Ackman was long and got wrecked 🤣, but the real kill-shot came from shorts like Jim Chanos and Andrew Left (Citron) exposing the “secret pharmacy network” (Philidor) that was basically channel-stuffing and price-gouging on steroids. Stock fell ~95%, CEO in prison, company renamed Bausch Health.
Nikko Cordial (2006, Japan)
A tiny Japanese short fund (and later bigger global shorts) exposed Japan’s biggest brokerage cooking earnings via off-balance-sheet vehicles. Forced the first-ever NYSE delisting of a Japanese giant.
Sino-Forest (2011) Muddy Waters again. Called out a Canadian-listed Chinese timber company as a total Ponzi (trees didn’t fucking exist). Stock from $25 to pennies in months. Total wipeout, one of the biggest TSX frauds ever.
Gotham City Research vs. Gowex (2014, Spain)
Tiny short report proved the “Spanish Wi-Fi king” had 90% fake revenue. CEO admitted fraud on Twitter the next day, filed bankruptcy a week later.
Adani Group (2023) Hindenburg Research dropped a monster report on debt, accounting tricks, and offshore shells. Wiped out $150B+ in market cap in days. Still ongoing, but triggered raids, regulatory probes in multiple countries, and forced Adani to cancel a $2.5B share sale.
Herbalife (2012–ongoing)
Bill Ackman’s $1B short bet called it a pyramid scheme. Didn’t kill the company, but forced FTC investigation, $200M settlement and fundamental business-model change.
Moral of this story: when the loudest “ALL HEDGE FUNDS ARE CRIMINALS” crowd starts swinging, remember a decent chunk of the biggest corporate fraud corpses have short-seller boot prints all over them. They’re not saints, but pretending they’ve never done society a solid is just revisionist copium. Take responsibility for your own trades, you look like a bunch of pussies.
Anson Funds clown @stockmannnbroo out here crying that the DOJ/SEC are “too embarrassed” to chase hedge fund fraud because they got played by Andrew Left & Moez Kassam.
Embarrassed? 😂
Let’s run the actual numbers real quick:
DOJ Criminal Fraud Section (securities fraud charges/convictions)
2020 → 2024: +30% more individuals charged
2024 alone: 234 charged, 252 convicted (highest in 5 yrs)
SEC civil fraud actions: 150+ in 2024, $8.2B in penalties (all-time record)
They literally just fucking charged Andrew Left in 2024 for the exact “short-and-distort” playbook Anson is accused of funding with fake invoices. That’s not embarrassment, that’s prosecutors building cases that actually stick instead of rage-tweeting like douchebags.
I’m anti-hedge-fund when they break the law (naked shorting, paying for hit pieces, hiding conflicts, fucking jail that shit).
I’m also anti-dumbass fucking pumpers and fake CEOs who bait retail into dumping life savings into obvious dilution machines and then scream “naked short hedgies did it!” when the issuer prints 300M new shares and knifes thier own shareholders.
Saying all brokers are criminals when one gets popped is like saying OH MY GOD, ONE plumber got busted slinging meth out of his van and NOW the entire profession is a Breaking-Bad subsidiary?! QUICK, somebody call the DEA on every dude in Carhartts! Nationalize the PVC! Put ankle monitors on every plunger in America!
Yeah, the local guy who fixed your leaky faucet is obviously cooking 99.1% pure blue in the crawl space, you absolute shit for brains genius. Take the tin-foil hat off, Walter White warrior, one meth head with a wrench doesn’t make plumbers the Sinaloa Cartel’s plumbing division.
I also think its funny how the loudest “regulators are scared” crowd is NEVER critical of the shitco company that just turned your $50k into $500 with an ATM offering.
Both sides can be scumbags, and they both have motive.
Stop picking teams like a 12-year-old bitch. And set a fucking stop loss for Christ's sake.
Receipts > feelings.

$GME Warrant Reality Check For Dumbasses
Y'all are branding this as a “golden ticket" 🤣 This ain’t Willy Wonka, dipshits.
You ain't getting free chocolate bars stuffed with infinite money for christs sake. You’re getting a warrant, a right to buy GME at $32 before Oct 2026. If GME doesn’t trade above $32, your “ticket” is worth zero.
I see people saying some crazy shit, no surprise with this crew. Let's run out a few
Brokers aren’t hiding them in secret vaults lol. Some (like Robinhood) just don’t have the systems built to process $GME WS yet. We call that IT lag boneheads, it's not the Illuminati.
3️⃣ IBKR’s “2,134,475 % short margin” number? That’s their way of saying “don’t even try shorting this.” That's called a Risk-engine placeholder, not a secret code to activate hedge-fund terrorists
Fuckwads still can't figure out Dldilution math. Here it is -> full exercise adds ≈ 59 M shares or ~10 % dilution.
But only if everyone exercises. If you exercise too, your percentage ownership stays flat. Nothing to see here.
I hate to break it to you, but for the millionth time: There’s no “forced short cover.” None.
No rule, no clause, no magical SEC mechanic.
Shorts can settle cash or hedge internally, as they always do.
Mottherfuckers will never learn corporate finance or instituional risk management, you'd all rather make up fan fiction bullshit.
Some of you think “hedge funds will be margin-called to infinity,”
you’re confusing capital raising with an acid trip. Hedge funds won't get touched on this fucking thing.
If you take twenty minutes to read a goddamn SEC filing, you would realize that GameStop has engineered a potential $1.9 B capital pathway that day traders will make bank on and y'all won't do shit until its too late. It is definitly a smart treasury strategy, but it's not a MOASS revival event kids. Your bag remains full.
It's still too much for you to trade facts? Read the SEC filing. The market doesn’t care how many "golden tickets" you tweet about Willy.

Your broker is NOT your enemy. Nor are market makers, hedge funds, the DTCC, PFOF or “dark pools.” Your worst enemies are ignorance, greed and fear followed by charlatans like this guy who pretend to know what they’re talking about but in reality spread misinformation for clicks.

So let’s see if @JWesChristian is up for a good faith debate. Will he attempt to rebut me, block me or hope that I go away, like that’s gonna happen. His contention is “naked shorts” are impacting price discovery but there are so many holes in his arguments even the Russians...1/
Replying to @JWesChristian
See below for the letters sent to Forbes from myself and Dr. Shapiro (renowned economist), which I hope will serve to better inform Forbes’ and Mr. Kochkodin’s reporting going forward.

Dear Apes,
@CEOAdam has played you and got rich as the attached article demonstrates.
He has your money. And he is very rude and will not say thank you.
I am a short seller - and I have a little of your money too. Much less of it - but some.
Thanks
