I always get eviscerated when I say that SAHM is not a high-status position and the actual upper and upper middle classes are not doing it, I think because those in a position where they have to work or making ends meet as a SAHM is nigh on impossible cannot fathom having the resources to do it easily and choosing not to. Yet, that is the reality in the vast majority of cases.
