Houston commutes can truly suck, but there is something magical about flying down Memorial into downtown with the sun just peeking up behind the skyline that really gets me going.

Question for #EFT:
How do you view E&P intern programs in context of AI? Feels like Claude can easily knock out most of the grunt work I’d previously assign to an intern.
Intern programs are so important, but struggling to reimagine them for non technical roles.
I would stomach thousands of dollars per year in fees if someone offered a card that automatically bypassed tipping options upon swiping/tapping

Turns our rodstar and others are just a series of recreatable wave equations. Now we can run >1000 scenarios to solve the hardest production problems in minutes

My grandfather built McCormick Spices from nothing after your ancestors tomahawked his wife and kids. I'll be damned if you take another scalp from my family fortune!

Maybe one trend that AI will reverse is the absolutely stupid practice of connecting things to the Internet that have no business being connected to the Internet.
BREAKING: 🇫🇷 A major cyberattack has hit supermarket refrigeration systems across France, reportedly causing fresh and frozen food to spoil after hackers remotely manipulated temperature controls.
According to BFMTV, the attack began overnight from Sunday into Monday, targeting older versions of refrigeration-control software supplied by Danish company Danfoss.
The attackers allegedly exploited the systems’ defrosting function, forcing refrigeration equipment to heat continuously instead of keeping products cold. Temperatures were reportedly set as high as 50°C, destroying entire stocks of food within hours.
Several major supermarket chains have been affected, including Intermarché, Super U and E.Leclerc. Metro stores and independent businesses, including butcher shops also have been impacted.
Around 150 Intermarché stores are reportedly affected, according to industry sources cited by BFMTV. The full number of affected locations remains unclear.
The financial damage is already significant. In Haguenau, Alsace, an Intermarché store reportedly lost its entire frozen-food stock, worth approximately €50,000. A nearby Super U allegedly had to discard both fresh and frozen products, with losses estimated at €220,000. An E.Leclerc store in the same town was also affected, although its losses had not yet been calculated.
The combined losses reported at the Intermarché and Super U stores in Haguenau alone amount to around €270,000. Nationwide damage could reach several million euros.
Intermarché reportedly confirmed the incident in an internal communication, warning that several stores had suffered losses of frozen products. Coopérative U also acknowledged the attack and established crisis teams to assist affected stores and coordinate with refrigeration specialists.
Technical investigations are ongoing, and the full extent of the damage has yet to be established.
Authorities and companies are still working to determine the full circumstances of the attack. The identity of the perpetrators has not been confirmed.

you can either look at a mortgage as a bank letting you long real estate against a perpetual devaluing dollar for a carry cost slightly above the risk free rate of return, or you can choose to be ignorant of how money works, if you spiritually have the mind of a medieval peasant
Once upon a time Energy XXI pulled a big boy move when facing BK
They purposely missed a bond coupon. Notional bond values collapsed in secondary
But they had a 10d grace period for cross default triggering
Working with PE they bought up all the bonds at 10-20% of par

Huge kudos to the 4 senators and the White House for completing negotiations on energy permitting reform.
The bill has been so difficult because the 4 senators came with very different priorities and constituencies.
Capito (R-WV): pipelines and permitting certainty
Whitehouse (D-RI): reducing emissions
Lee (R-UT): removing regulatory barriers and protecting states' rights
Heinrich (D-NM): protecting lands; transmission and renewables
They came to the table because the current system fails on all four sets of priorities. But permitting reform is not zero sum. This deal advances all of them. It's good for America and the American people.
How tf you got only 100 passengers on this regional jet and you need 9 separate boarding groups plus first class?

Worth noting that the human shield strategy would be pointless if they believed Israel was willing to just target indiscriminately.
The only reason to do this is because Hamas/PIJ believe that having a child act as a human shield makes an Israeli action less likely.
