Maybe one trend that AI will reverse is the absolutely stupid practice of connecting things to the Internet that have no business being connected to the Internet.
BREAKING: 🇫🇷 A major cyberattack has hit supermarket refrigeration systems across France, reportedly causing fresh and frozen food to spoil after hackers remotely manipulated temperature controls. According to BFMTV, the attack began overnight from Sunday into Monday, targeting older versions of refrigeration-control software supplied by Danish company Danfoss. The attackers allegedly exploited the systems’ defrosting function, forcing refrigeration equipment to heat continuously instead of keeping products cold. Temperatures were reportedly set as high as 50°C, destroying entire stocks of food within hours. Several major supermarket chains have been affected, including Intermarché, Super U and E.Leclerc. Metro stores and independent businesses, including butcher shops also have been impacted. Around 150 Intermarché stores are reportedly affected, according to industry sources cited by BFMTV. The full number of affected locations remains unclear. The financial damage is already significant. In Haguenau, Alsace, an Intermarché store reportedly lost its entire frozen-food stock, worth approximately €50,000. A nearby Super U allegedly had to discard both fresh and frozen products, with losses estimated at €220,000. An E.Leclerc store in the same town was also affected, although its losses had not yet been calculated. The combined losses reported at the Intermarché and Super U stores in Haguenau alone amount to around €270,000. Nationwide damage could reach several million euros. Intermarché reportedly confirmed the incident in an internal communication, warning that several stores had suffered losses of frozen products. Coopérative U also acknowledged the attack and established crisis teams to assist affected stores and coordinate with refrigeration specialists. Technical investigations are ongoing, and the full extent of the damage has yet to be established. Authorities and companies are still working to determine the full circumstances of the attack. The identity of the perpetrators has not been confirmed.

you can either look at a mortgage as a bank letting you long real estate against a perpetual devaluing dollar for a carry cost slightly above the risk free rate of return, or you can choose to be ignorant of how money works, if you spiritually have the mind of a medieval peasant
“Buying a house right now is FCKING MENTAL. what do you mean I can borrow $400K at 8%, pay almost $3K every month for 10 YEARS, hand the bank roughly $352K, and STILL owe around $351K. And that’s before we even talk about taxes, insurance, maintenance, or repairs. Wild. WILD.”

Huge kudos to the 4 senators and the White House for completing negotiations on energy permitting reform. The bill has been so difficult because the 4 senators came with very different priorities and constituencies. Capito (R-WV): pipelines and permitting certainty Whitehouse (D-RI): reducing emissions Lee (R-UT): removing regulatory barriers and protecting states' rights Heinrich (D-NM): protecting lands; transmission and renewables They came to the table because the current system fails on all four sets of priorities. But permitting reform is not zero sum. This deal advances all of them. It's good for America and the American people.

EOR can take a larger share of what’s left onshore. The growth capital is still leaving the Lower 48.
When the third largest Permian producer is saying this you might want to pay attention Larger % of the onshore landscape over next decade will go EOR/secondary

Worth noting that the human shield strategy would be pointless if they believed Israel was willing to just target indiscriminately. The only reason to do this is because Hamas/PIJ believe that having a child act as a human shield makes an Israeli action less likely.
NEW: Footage from central Gaza shows an armed operative using a child to carry weapons into a residential building.

Keystone XL pipeline was delayed by Obama, restarted by Trump, cancelled by Biden and restarted again by Trump. Offshore wind started under Biden was cancelled by Trump. Biden paused new LNG export. Trump has paused new onshore wind. Separately, people are mad about energy costs.

I am reading a rather horrific book on Treblinka extermination camp. Between July 1942 and August 1943 approximately 850,000 Polish Jews were murdered in gas chambers. That is a genocide. In 3 years of war 75,000 people in Gaza have died. The majority of them are Hamas fighters. Treblinka is 1 camp out of 5 extermination camps in Poland in which millions of Jews were systemically murdered for 4 years. To call what is happening in Gaza a tragedy or a war is fine. To call it a genocide is truly a blood libel and absolutely incongruent with what happened in occupied Poland in WW2. The fact my fellow Americans do it regularly astounds me.

I know a lot of you are following the Josh Cohen $AZRH saga. But, tonight is going to be a big one for scam oil companies in the Permian. This evening there will be a spaces call with @laralogan discussing the scam company $MMTLP. This company ran a huge scam touting oil reserves that never existed. Pumped their stock up telling people they would sell to Exxon. All fairytales. Many dry holes, and thousands of broke retail investors, later the UT Land System yanked their development agreement because the company 1) never established production resulting in sales and 2) never paid its minimum royalties and 3) did not fulfill its drilling obligations. I would imagine they will wax on about how the SEC screwed shareholders and won't talk to him. The reality is the SEC issued subpoenas. The principals, however, dumped their shares at high prices. Everyone in Midland with a brain understands that this was a scam built on a huge lie of billions of barrels of oil being recoverable. The truth is they never sold a single barrel. A huge group of moronic investors believe that the SEC is the bad guy and not the fake oil reserves. These people are so crazy that the SEC had to tell people to work from home because of the incoming threats from broke $MMTLP investors. nitter.gq/i/spaces/1nKOLQozvrvGR…

BREAKING: The U.S. has approved a potential $24.3 billion sale of 48 F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. The State Department says the proposed deal would have “no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness.”
