The ANC was also very strategic because the things that we worry about losing are the shackles they have on us. 32 years after 1994 generations of black people are still worried about BEE in a country where 82% of the population is black.
That’s what happens when the black governing body deliberately keeps you away from funding and real economic development or access to keep you subservient to them.
If they funded black industrialists, entrepreneurs, farmers and at least 3-4 black owned commercial banks, you wouldn’t need to worry about BEE to get employed or survive economically.
And that’s the issue, what can they dangle in front of the middle class if BEE is no longer relevant? What can they dangle in front of the poor if grants are no longer relevant?
