I was wondering for a while after seeing this!
That familiarity breeds comfort is true! That is why many girls tend to fall in love with a guy who keeps following them (not creepily, of course). It is the mystery of the unknown that keeps the love affair going.
It is when you get to know the other too well and up close that we start taking things for granted, and that is when perhaps familiarity breeds contempt.
It is obvious in case of family and relationships. But I have been thinking about it in the context of politics also.
In India, people under 30 might have mostly not even seen the earlier governments and how India was managed before that. All they would have seen is the Modi-led BJP government. It is already slowly leading from comfort to contempt, and that is a serious factor that the BJP has to consider ahead of the 2029 elections.
We can think of a hundred different scenarios like this and see how it works out in each case. Where familiarity keeps comfort for a long time, that will be a good lesson to learn.
We tend to like things simply because we see them often.
Psychologists call this the mere exposure effect.
Familiarity breeds comfort, even when there is no real reason to prefer something.
This is why repeated ads work and why first impressions can change over time.
What is one thing you started liking only after seeing it many times?

I wonder if international journalists ever bother to read a country’s rulebook before lecturing the world about it. Or is ignorance a prerequisite for a Guardian byline?
Here’s another theatrical narrative by The Guardian.
Author: Who else? Hannah Ellis-Petersen.
🔗 theguardian.com/world/2026/o…
CLAIM: Jailing two CJP leaders proves India is a dictatorship.
FACT: They received five days in prison after jumping police barricades and entering a protest site where demonstrations had been prohibited. Whether that prohibition was justified is a separate question.
🇺🇸 IF IT WERE THE USA:
• The First Amendment protects peaceful assembly, not immunity from lawful restrictions or trespass laws.
🇬🇧 IF IT WERE THE UK:
• Police can impose conditions on protests. Breaching certain conditions can lead to criminal prosecution.
🇩🇪 IF IT WERE GERMANY:
• Organising an assembly despite an enforceable ban can attract up to one year in prison or a fine under the Assembly Act.
CLAIM: India is uniquely authoritarian because it restricts protests.
FACT: All three Western democracies regulate public demonstrations. None offers an unconditional right to protest anywhere, regardless of lawful restrictions.
CLAIM: The leaders were jailed simply for criticising Modi.
FACT: The reported grounds concerned entering the restricted site and violating orders. Criticising the government and violating a lawful order are not the same thing.
CLAIM: Restrictions automatically prove dictatorship.
FACT: The proper test is whether restrictions are lawful, necessary and proportionate and whether citizens have remedies against abuse.
India’s handling of dissent deserves scrutiny. So do the restrictions imposed by Western governments.
But if the same action is presented as law enforcement in the West and proof of dictatorship in India, that is selective outrage, not consistent journalism.

Such beautiful illustration & clear crisp understanding of healing oneself ❤️🌺👏🏼
For years I thought healing meant fighting the boulder.
Suffered under it.
Carried it.
Analyzed it.
Learned from it.
Accepted it.
Transformed it.
Same weight. Different relationship.
The pain didn't vanish. I just stopped running from it, and something started growing out of it.
Which stage are you in right now?

Narratives!
Lies
My keenest attention
goes to the Mountains
Rivers, Wind, Forest and the Ocean
As they have never lied to me.
I have heard people, scriptures,
philosophies, ideologies and social media
All I see is narratives of self-interest
Narratives and narratives of me vs you
Against Nations, of Race and Religion
Of Caste, Creed and Colour – Narratives.
Lies going out as liberal thought
Lies being paraded as the way to heaven
Lies masquerading as well-being for all
Lies and Lies
Did a Mountain, River, Wind, Forest
or an Ocean ever lie to you…

Nepal’s PM Balendra Shah said this at the UN yesterday:
“We propose…a Himalayan climate resilience mechanism led by Nepal, India and China.”
Share satellite data. Monitor dangerous glacial lakes. Build joint early-warning systems. Coordinate disaster response across borders.
Why is India not talking about this?
#WATCH | New York | At the 81st United Nations General Assembly, Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah says, "...We propose that we establish a Himalayan climate resilience mechanism led by Nepal, India and China. Through this mechanism, let us share satellite data and expertise. Let us monitor dangerous glacial lakes. Let us strengthen joint early warning systems. When disaster strikes, let us coordinate assistance across borders. Let the Himalayas become a laboratory of international cooperation rather than a frontier of fragmented information..."

Most of us have wondered why this happens.... This video explains it extremely well! 👌👌👌
Interesting video: Your knuckles don’t “crack” because bones collide. A tiny cavity forms and collapses in the joint fluid, a fascinating phenomenon called cavitation. 🦴💥 nitter.gq/LifeScience_X/status/2…

One thing is clear: the Delhi protesters want to plunge India into chaos, and stop the nation's progress. We must defeat this malicious agenda, which is aided and abetted by powers that want to destroy India.
We have a vibrant democracy and elections are the proper way to express our collective judgment.
CJP is a fake cover for anarchists. It is not spontaneous. 20 days there was nothing happening. it is only on the opening of parliament that political crowds joined. It is preplaned and organised. It should be crushed with iron hand.

Our Moon has Blood Clots @rahulpandita is by far the best way to introduce yourself to the exodus/genocide (call it whatever you fancy) of Kashmiri Pandits!
Literally every Kashmiri Pandit family will have a memoir of their own, only if they would document it for the world to see first hand.
I recently read "Our Moon Has Blood Clots", a memoir of loss, displacement, and the longing for a home left behind, written by Rahul Pandita. The author's deeply personal narrative moved me profoundly.
There were many moments in the book that brought me to tears. Reading about families forced to leave their beloved homes overnight, the immense suffering they endured, and the brutal killings that shattered lives was heartbreaking. The pain and trauma described in these pages can move even the strongest hearts. 🥹
One thought that stayed with me throughout the book is how news reports and media coverage often reduce such tragedies to numbers, statistics, and headlines. While facts and figures are important, they can never fully capture the fear, grief, loss, and emotional scars that people carry for a lifetime. 😢
I hope the displaced community can return with dignity and security, reconnect with their heritage, and rebuild what was lost. Such healing would not only bring closure to thousands of families but also strengthen the social fabric of Kashmir by acknowledging a painful chapter of its history.
Thank you @rahulpandita ji for this powerful and heartfelt memoir. 🙏

Most sculptors work with stone, wood, metal, but Pattnaik's canvas is sand - that material which slips through our fingers!
Sudarsan Pattnaik as a child didn't think if something was possible or not possible, he just used whatever was available as his canvass! Today this Padma Shri awardee teaches his art to aspirants too.
You made Bharat proud ji!
#WATCH | World-renowned Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has won the Russia Grand Sand Master Cup 2026 at the II International Festival of Sand Sculpture in the Kaliningrad Region, Russia. He becomes the first Indian sand artist to receive this prestigious honor.
Speaking about his win, he says, "This is a very big honor for me as an artist to win this cup. For my art on climate change, as a first Indian, I have won this cup, the Grand Sun Master Cup of 2026... I always try to make sculpture with the message. here we have shown climate impact around the world and what we have to do for the climate change. Thanks to the jury and organizers who selected for me for this award. It is a very big honor for me and for my country. I'd to thank all my fans for all those who always support me."

The resilience of marine ecosystems is remarkable, but they are not invincible. When organisms producing half our oxygen face acidification, that's a vulnerability we can't ignore. The science is clear. Will we act on it?
Imagine waking up and half the oxygen on Earth is gone.
Sounds impossible?
The oceans produce around 50% of the oxygen we breathe.
The planet's biggest life-support system isn't on land, it's underwater. 🧵👇 (1/5)

VinFast entering India’s cab market? 🚕⚡
If the reports turn out to be true, this could shake up the EV ride-hailing space.
Imagine:
✅ Electric-only taxi fleets
✅ Lower operating costs
✅ Less pollution in cities
✅ Quieter rides
✅ More charging infrastructure
But the big question is: Will passengers actually get cheaper fares? 🤔

Loved those micro-SUV VinFast VF 3, a highly popular, compact 2-door micro-SUV designed primarily for navigating urban environments. 😎

The Woods Were Lovely, Dark and Deep!
Let's know this about our Home on World Earth Day
Forests first appeared on Earth 390 million years ago! The earliest fossils, dating to the Devonian period, show trees with wispy trunks and non-woody tissue, resembling thin palms instead of grand banyans or oaks.
There were no birds or animals - only millipede like insects moved around, while the trees waited another 150 million years for the first dinosaurs to arrive.
Importantly, the birth of forests brought the revolution of life - earlier, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels on Earth were too high for plant life to develop into more than ferns. In the Devonian period, however, CO2 levels began to drop and plants developed stronger roots and arching branches.
Megaphyll leaves emerged, fitting in more pores or stomata to absorb CO2 — and produce oxygen. As trees — scaling to forests — breathed out oxygen, conditions for life on Earth strengthened.
Eventually, six million years ago, the first humans came along. Forests were humanity’s first home - even after we left their leafy environs, we returned constantly for water, wood, medicine and energy.
