We are in some wildly entertaining times.
The online influencer ecosystem has drifted far from its roots. What began as largely ideology-driven has become almost entirely financially driven. For most of the past year, I’ve been calling for the FTC to update its guidelines so that paid political content faces the same disclosure requirements as paid promotions of commercial products: clothing, food, cosmetics, or anything else. Right now, if someone is paid to support or oppose a candidate or political issue online, no disclosure is required. It’s time for that to change.

This is a good point. Trump attacked him relentlessly for not locking down while praising Newsome and Cuomo for their draconian lockdowns and tried to usurp power of the states himself to force lockdowns. Find your balls and cease the cuck behavior, @GovRonDeSantis.
'Romney smeared me and would've given us managed decline.' Okay, fair enough. But someone else smeared you a lot more and is currently giving us *accelerated* decline. Yet the amount of ire each one is getting seems wildly disproportionate.

It didn't matter. The problem is Trump promised to make it better. But for many Americans it hasn't. Lot of Americans have been stagnant, and even falling behind. And some of Trump's policies helped cause that.
The first two years under Trump have been better economically than what we lived through under Biden. No two ways about it. Under Biden, inflation hit 9.1 percent. Gas prices were over $5 a gallon. Real wages got crushed for a long stretch and people felt it every time they filled up or bought groceries. Did everyone magically forget that? Now inflation is running in the mid 3s. The labor market is holding up. We just got 165 thousand jobs added in October and unemployment back down to 4.1 percent! Hourly wages are up. And now oil prices dropped right after the election even though nothing about the war has changed… Funny how that works.

It appears that a grand total of 45 Republican candidates for House, Senate or governor cleared 60% of the vote.

Ken's point is that RDS is conveniently avoiding the big problem with Republicans while simultaneously focusing on all the other minor problems.

Amazing that some seem to believe that the post-Trump right will revert to “conservatism” (the subordinated junior wing of procedural liberalism), rather than becoming even more substantive and forceful.

Hearing people talk about the dereliction of duty for the President to not get Congressional approval of the Iran endeavor (a critique I wholeheartedly agree with) who never ever ever ever said a peep about the dereliction of duty in imposing tariff-taxes without Congressional approval is just mind-boggling. That level of hypocrisy and cowardice would, I would think, cause most people to sit it out. The shamelessness of our age …

The “Epstein was Mossad” story has exactly one source: Ari Ben-Menashe, a man who has spent 40 years claiming the recently dead were Mossad agents. He was never in Mossad. Russian state media did the rest. On One America News. The Epstein Conspiracy: amazon.com/dp/B0HMKF174Z

To all Republican politicos trying to flood the zone with quasi-Trump criticism after the midterms: The problem with you discovering political courage after the election is that everyone can see the election came first.

If only Trump hadn’t been shoved down our throats. We knew he wasn’t interested in legislating. He only wanted revenge, of which all attempts have failed. Lots of us wanted someone new. We were told it’s now "Cut off your nose to spite your face" time as far back as August 2023.

It was simply a hat tip to maga, nobody cares that he attacked Romney, of all the replies he choose to respond to that was it, I’m thinking there’s another figure in the party that deserves getting some heat after Tuesday

The tariff experiment failed on its own terms: higher prices, no manufacturing boom, and vast majority of voters stating it harmed the economy. Democrats should take the hint. Don't run a softer version of Trump's trade agenda. Win on cost of living by making things cheaper to build, buy, and import!
"Buried somewhere in the wreckage of Tuesday’s stunning Republican defeat is President Donald Trump’s signature economic policy: The notion that tariffs on foreign goods will deliver a better life for everyday Americans." washingtonpost.com/business/…

This might hit a little harder had you not spent two years as a listless vessel for the man who originated those lies about you, Governor.
With all due respect, the number of times I spoke with Paul Ryan from my election as governor through the 2024 campaign: zero. And Mitt Romney was attacking me back then because we beat Disney on gender ideology and he is a corporatist. Try demonstrating a little more discernment next time someone is peddling bullsh— to you.

This is actually a red flag. Beat up on Romney all you like; he sucks & he deserves it. But by any honest conservative accounting, he didn't warrant a blank ballot in 2012 nearly as much as Trump did in 2024.
I voted for Romney but not enthusiastically. In hindsight I wish I had left it blank. Total squish.

Romney attacked me during Covid as an “authoritarian” who was “more dangerous than Trump.” This was during the time when I used my power to protect people from the largest incursion against liberty in our lifetime — restrictions and mandates that Romney supported. Blocking local governments from imposing covid mandates/restrictions is not being an “authoritarian”; it is liberating people from government overreach by city and county officials. Florida is better for our efforts, and the country would not have been liberated had we not led. Claiming to be “severely conservative” and then smearing the one guy who delivered the conservative wish list across the spectrum shows him to be a phony. Better than Obama but he would have given us managed decline that accepted the assumptions of the left and bowed to criticisms of the legacy media.

Hugh Hewitt has been doing this “Trump will pivot to being an adult any time now” thing for over a decade and at some point you just have to laugh
The next WH Press Secretary will matter a great deal as Democrats gear up for one, last assault on President Trump. My unsolicited suggestion: Get a list of Supreme Court law clerks from the past six years and interview those who are in fact believers in Article II powers and who can verbally battle with and best a WH press corps which will rival that of Nixon’s last two years in combativeness. President Trump is his own best defender but a young, very smart, very articulate lawyer who knows the Constitution inside and out and doesn’t flinch from making arguments based on Article II powers is the ticket to at least getting his message out over the legacy media’s insatiable appetite for scandal and controversy as the gather their numbers for the last gasp in their 12-year war against Trump.
