As people are discussing Andy Burnham’s plan not to have Number 10 as his main home, my mind drifts to the outrage over Starmer saying he would take a few hours off as ‘family time’ on Friday nights

Replacing Starmer with Burnham would be the worst downgrade since Lazenby took over from Sean Connery.

Being a Lewis fan in this Ferrari era is crazy cause every day there's a headline like:
*Person with no success in F1* tells *driver with the most wins ever* that to be successful at *team with no recent success* you need to stop trying to *improve/change something*

Hannah Hampton has no depth perception. She had multiple operations on her eyes before she was 5 years old. She was told she’d never play professional sport. What she’s just done defies description, medical science, anything else you can name. A phenomenal human being. 🥲

Just figured out where these fake tariff rates come from. They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did. Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us.
So we have a $17.9 billion trade deficit with Indonesia. Its exports to us are $28 billion. $17.9/$28 = 64%, which Trump claims is the tariff rate Indonesia charges us. What extraordinary nonsense this is.
Replying to @JamesSurowiecki
It's also important to understand that the tariff rates that foreign countries are supposedly charging us are just made-up numbers. South Korea, with which we have a trade agreement, is not charging a 50% tariff on U.S. exports. Nor is the EU charging a 39% tariff.

There are multiple reasons this is a bad idea
I'll go through each one by one for anyone who can be arsed to find out
The only people who won't be arsed are people who think this only for ideological, NOT rational reasons

EXC: Liz Truss has sent Keir Starmer a cease and desist letter demanding he stops claiming she crashed the economy.
Lawyers for Truss say the statement is “false and defamatory” and even may have contributed to her failed re-election.
