Gold held by #FRBNY for "foreign official accts" in Feb unch at 5,804t worth $1trn. Now we know who withdrew (sold) 129t (Aug'25-Jan'26): the French. Parked for 60 years, now zero left. Speaks volumes. Who's next?

Just resurfacing this gem. Gold tripled in his face immediately after mocking @BankerWeimar who called the bottom. It’s poetic.

Thank you for the kind wishes.
Back at you.
Regarding the reporting of negatives.
15 years have taught me that there are forces within the PM markets that very few people understand, especially those new to the sector. These forces prevent the straight up moves that many hope for.

Retweet if you think Witkoff should be fired.
The WSJ article saying billion $$ deals are being made with Russia that give them favorable terms over Ukraine is alarming. U.S. foreign policy should not be based on greed. We must stand on the side of freedom, the rule of law & free markets, & know that a “Might Makes Right” world is eventually dangerous to us too.

WSJ today. Multi-billion $$ business deals between Russian & American billionaires that forces Ukraine to give Russia more land, & make Ukraine a Russian vassal state. Greed trumps Ukrainian sovereignty. Churchill & Reagan are turning in their graves. wsj.com/world/russia/russia-…

$PSLV Short Sale Volume has risen to the highest on record today coming in at 33.7M. One more day till Chinese holiday. Should be pertinent to see how the west acts here for the week that China is out. If they buy instead of selling, we've got regime change, but Shorts are high

Everyone is fixated on the German gold claimed to be at the NY Fed, 1236 tonnes - never audited and probably long gone.
But what about the ~ 1000 tonnes of Banca D’Italia gold also claimed to be at the NY Fed, which has never been audited either, and is probably long gone also?

Gold and silver alert
EFP on gold plus $60 and on silver $1.05. This has gone up over 100% from last week. This is serious.
Someone is taking physical large bars. This could wreck minters as their cost for 1000 oz silver bars are going straight up. At the same time retail is selling metals due to IRA liquidation season. Retail dealers are in a premium war to get a shrinking pie of retail buyers.

⚠️BREAKING: JP Morgan says Institutions bought the dip while Retail panic-sold aggressively.
Retail sold $1 Billion.
Institutions bought +$14 Billion.
Maybe it's because trading platforms were down for retail investors?
Market manipulation at its finest.

Minimum basket size in $SLV is 50,000 shares (~$1.5m), and only authorized participants can create / redeem shares. Not retail. Change in inventory used to be correlated to price, but not anymore. GLD, SLV used by bullion banks as free storage for excess inventory.

Sunday opened with a bang on #GC and #SI.
A misaligned opening quotation led to the liquidation of some late longs, as the stops were hunted and triggered a flush of sell-at-market orders.
I will exceptionally show you the 1-second charts, because they are remarkable and illustrate what you can expect if you trade these beasts on the futures markets.
The infamous 1-second BLIP (in reality, the entire process lasted a few milliseconds, but the 1s chart is better to appreciate the overall dynamics) took no prisoners and cleared the stops way down, with an exceptional movement that is clearly visible on the 2m or 1H chart, quite an accomplishment.
The degenerates trading this stuff faced true ranges of 168 and 117 ticks in the first second of trading on GC and SI. Powerful negative delta, because all the stops converted to sell-at-market orders: 489 and 229 lots.
If you had a classic retail stop “1 tick below the low” (those taught in technical analysis books or by some notorious FURUs), you could easily have had 100/150 ticks of slippage, depending on where you got your fill.
The dollar value of those 1-second (!) true ranges was $1680 for gold and a whopping $2925 for silver. Again, in 1 second with 1 contract.
Can you afford that?
Do you leave enough room for your margin to allow movements like that?
Study the product that you trade thoroughly.
It’s a matter of life and death.
The bounce after the stop hunting was absolutely gorgeous and overall it was a very healthy development: it is better to clean your tail during a trend, as it makes the trend stronger, not weaker.
Take care.
