Out of all the times, I've seen the Season 8 episode of M*A*S*H called "Dreams" where they have their nightmares, I never noticed that when father Mulcahy is starting to doze off, the soldier confessing to him begins to speak gibberish. Then when Mulcahy wakes back up for a little bit, the soldier is speaking English, but begins speaking gibberish again as Mulcahy falls asleep and dreams he is the pope with a dead soldier eventually appearing on the cross. All of the character's dreams are horrifying and the episode won several awards, including an Emmy for Alan Alda, who directed the episode.

Y'all need to remember the non-violent tactics my generation used to protest for Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Gay rights and opposition to the Vietnam War.
My office has been notified that ICE is using parking lots in Austin as staging areas to terrorize our community. ICE is making Austin less safe. Kids are scared to go to school, parents are scared to go to work, and crime victims are even scared to talk to police. I am urging owners and operators of parking lots in Austin to not rent or lend your property to ICE for these operations. ICE needs to get out of Austin. (Photo via journalist Mario Tapia)

I honestly don’t give a fuck how civilians, racists, and these fake patriots feel about the national anthem. Y’all talk so much about respect, but have no problem disrespecting people who look different from you. So why should I take your lectures about respecting the flag and the anthem seriously?

Why won't the TX GOP debate? Why are they attacking Democrats with weak, dated material from 5-10 years ago here in Texas? They're scared, and they should be. Abbott is in the fight of his life, and if he goes, the entire house of cards starts coming down.

they’re calling it “Black October” and i don’t think people realize how serious this is in the last 48 hours there have been over 27 major cybersecurity incidents. not in a month. not in a week. in 48 hours any ONE of these would normally be the biggest story of the year PHP: critical vulnerability in the software running 80% of the web. severity 9.2 out of 10 Node.js: high-severity flaw letting attackers take over servers remotely. affects versions 22, 24, and 26 Java: also compromised. three of the most used programming languages on earth hit at the same time GitLab: a perfect 10 out of 10 severity hole in every version since 2014 Railway: hosting platform compromised. API keys for OpenAI, Claude, Stripe potentially exposed Signal: a bug that could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker’s keys and planted backdoors on websites LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer and that’s not even half the list thousands of AI agent swarms are reportedly scanning and attacking vulnerable servers right now. automated. around the clock security researchers are saying this might be the early stages of a global cyber incident that nobody fully understands yet if you run a website, use cloud services, store API keys on hosting platforms, or use any software built on PHP, Node.js, or Java you are potentially affected update everything. rotate your API keys. change your passwords on critical services. enable 2FA everywhere you haven’t already this is not a normal week on the internet. this is something different

NEW: Rosneft deep dive by Bloomberg News + Officials at Russia’s largest oil producer are concerned that even a few more months of the war with Ukraine could leave lasting damage across the business. + One of Rosneft’s biggest refineries, Ryazan, has been shut for more than half the time since it was first hit by Ukraine in May and has run well below full capacity when operating, according to damage assessments seen by Bloomberg. + Another, Syzran, has spent much of the past six months either completely shut or operating at less than a third of capacity, according to data reviewed by Bloomberg. The Tuapse refinery has been offline since April. + Ukraine is conducting repeat strikes on the refineries as soon as repairs are completed or nearing completion. The need to repeatedly repair damaged equipment is straining operations and causing costs to pile up to levels that Rosneft officials have privately warned cannot be sustained long-term. + Some plants have deliberately slowed repairs as a result, stretching work that should take days into weeks, according to people familiar with the matter. + Efforts to protect the facilities with shipping containers, nets and steel cables have proved ineffective against swarms of drones, company plans show. + The damage is particularly difficult to repair when strikes hit complex secondary units, whose parts would previously have been sourced from the West. It means relying on Russian-made copies and Chinese imports that can take months to obtain and are not always compatible with existing machinery. + It’s put Rosneft into financial trouble. Even before the ramping up of Ukraine’s drone campaign, the company saw a “perfect storm” for its finances. Since then, its profits are down and debt is rising despite what should have been a big windfall from the Iran war. + Moscow Credit Bank, which is linked to Rosneft, is showing signs of distress with $8 billion of problem loans. It highlights how both Russia’s energy and banking sectors are coming under strain at the same time, a dynamic causing concern to Russian finance officials. All this and much more in the full story here: bloomberg.com/news/features/…

"Call me old-fashioned or idealistic, but I still believe that morality should play a role in American foreign policy. Of course, American presidents and diplomats sometimes must engage with autocrats to advance U.S. interests. I did as the U.S. ambassador to Russia. But we do not have to embrace them as friends or allies, especially imperial dictators like Putin, who uses terrorism and kidnapping as instruments of his war against Ukraine. I do not want my country helping such an evil leader. I want my country to be against imperialism and for sovereignty, to stand against dictatorship and for democracy, to aid those fighting for independence and against occupation."

This is what happens when citizens in Utah County utilize their constitutionally protected right to protest Data Centers. After showing up at a community meeting to speak out against Data Centers, cops swarmed a young woman, dragged her from the meeting, and slammed her to the ground, leaving her with a concussion. Now residents are demanding that Officer Phil Crawford be fired, arrested, and prosecuted. So, residents tried to make their voices heard about a decision affecting their own community, and wind up hospitalized as a result.
