Great to have been a small part of this @Conservatives win in my own council ward.
Our candidate Hayward Burt is very well known locally. I canvassed several dozen voters & heard lots of positive comments.

In 1991 less than 17% of England's bathing waters were excellent. Today, it's over 73%.
Yet the narrative is that things have got worse, and it's somehow worse to swim in the sea today than at any time in the past.
4.7% of 257 comparable bathing waters were rated Poor in 2025. My estimate for the same waters in 1991 is nearly half, from re-rating Environment Agency sampling data. The standards changed in 2015, so treat the comparison as indicative.

Our new Shadow Chancellor, @griffitha, has more business experience than the entire Labour Cabinet combined.
Harsh, but fair. @NairYetanyahu @JMilei

There is a pattern of rule breaking in Reform and it goes right to the top:
17 breaches of the code of conduct for £384,000 in late declarations.
Thousands in undeclared donations from George Cottrell.
An undeclared £5m personal ‘gift’ to Farage still under Commons investigation.
Robert Jenrick and Richard Tice under police investigation for separate alleged offences.
Now officials filmed plotting to dodge donation law.
Leader of Reform Scotland tells Times Radio that they have legal advice saying they have done nothing wrong 🤷♂️.
Why does Reform think the rules don’t apply to them?
Every serious party accepts the rules on donations and transparency.
If they have nothing to hide, they should welcome a full and independent investigation by the Electoral Commission and the Met Police, not resist one.
I used to be in the BMA (which was & is not part of the TUC). Very often, my boss was in the BMA as well.

I’ve watched this investigation carefully. It has Reform UK banged to rights in conspiring to accept illegal donations. Two of Nigel Farage’s most senior aides have already been shown the door.
Coming tonight: Channel 4 News and @Verbatim_Media reveal an undercover investigation inside Reform UK.
Watch at 7pm on Channel 4 or YouTube.

I definitely think we should have more of this in our lives.
Motor chariot racing held at Crystal Palace in 1925
I think this football ground is The Nest ( the team moved from there in 1924 to Selhurst Park. )
If you think differently please let me know.

£65m is not new money, to suggest it is shows Labour has not changed, and is again trying to gaslight the countryside into believing they are on our side.
Andy is not visiting my farm; if he was, he’d hear how his government’s failure on Bluetongue is devastating livestock in the South West.
I know I’ve got work to do to win the trust of Britain’s farmers.
Today we’re putting £65m more into supporting farmers through this drought and preparing for the summers ahead.
They’re on the frontline of a changing climate and they shouldn’t be left to face it alone.
The ability to grow our own food is national security. I’ll treat it that way.

The £65m is reprioritised from Defra's existing farming budget, not new money from the Treasury. Total agricultural spending remains unchanged as funds are diverted from other departmental programmes. fwi.co.uk/news/burnham-a… defrafarming.blog.gov.uk/2026/08/15/new…
Sad that HO have become a front for leftist censorship. Byline Times blocked me years ago for questioning transgenderism, which is deeply misogynist. Ironic, then, the display of ‘End Misogyny’ placards.
The Guardian said Hacked Off want "government-backed" press regulation. We don't — the Leveson model bars politicians. IPSO welcomes them.

…only 15% of those asked said the parliamentary standards investigation should now stop.
Which suggests 1/3 or so of the 24% support for @reformparty_uk is open to voting for other parties.
In early July @Ipsos_in_the_UK asked the public what should happen if Farage wins in Clacton.
73% said standards investigation should continue.
If Dale Vince & Ed Davey hadn’t whipped up interest in Binface, Farage’s vote would probably have been down.
Let’s see how the wider electorate responds to his party’s increasingly authoritarian & unpleasant rhetoric, over the next year or two.
So, ‘stupid stunts’, not any serious security risk. Farage’s failure to turn up & thank the Returning Officer & staff will only further strengthen tactical voting against his party.
Lefties furious at stunning result for @Nigel_Farage who outmanoeuvred them again by denying them the opportunity to stage stupid stunts at the count. They look extraordinarily foolish today.
Farage loyalists quite angry about this.
Will we see more Putinesque threats to restrict the free speech…of bookmakers?!
I think it's fair to say that's not a great night for Nigel Farage and Reform UK
Betting markets closed with their expected vote share at 73.5% and Count Binface expected to be under 20%
We now give him a 31% chance of being replaced as leader this year, whilst Kemi Badenoch is back into favourite for next Prime Minister
A superb image.
The difference is clear.
Only @KemiBadenoch’s Conservative Party thinks illegal immigrants should be deported, not pushed onto local communities.
Boris & Ben Wallace @BenWallace70 saved Ukraine from Putin’s attempted invasion.
Zia clearly doesn’t care about all that. Maybe Tim does.
This isn't acceptable from Zia.
I don't agree with @BenWallace70 on this issue but Zia's language and attitude towards any opponent is inappropriate and counter-productive. Opponents are opponents... they aren't enemies... or "moron"s.
One of the biggest question marks over @Nigel_Farage's leadership is whether he brings Zia under control. ZY is a man of huge talents but too much of his social media output is intemperate and reinforces Reform's number one problem: our negative tactical voting challenge.
Suella was right about leaving the ECHR.
But being right about one issue does not make you suitable for the highest office.
Yeah I was Home Secretary for the last 4 months of 2022. The numbers were out of control before I got to the Home Office, but the truth never bothered you.
And the Conservative Party in government refused to adopt my plan to leave the ECHR to stop the boats.
One of the reasons why I eventually left.
