We all keep on trying to find a perfect mapping of our trust in something to the intangible absolute truth. We stop when we have satisfied our curiosity on the matter.

Itโ€™ll work for sales calls 100%. But obviously not as a black guy high on the couch rubbing his balls

It won't work. You can make initial strides with a complicated solution. But to make the solution composeable and move even forward in an efficient and effective way, you'll need to untangle complexity; whether you are a human or an alien.

The aha! moments are still there. They are happening at the design and architecture layer, not syntax. We've been bubbling up our abstraction control from bits to assembly, to C, to C++, to JS, to natural language. It's like nature was evolving into this eventually.

What do you mean? You can dream 10x larger now. Don't compare yourself pre-AI vs others post-AI now. The question is not "can we make in a week what used to take 6 months". It's "what I can I make in 6 months with this". And that can't be easily copied.

Researchers proved AI has deleted every reason universities exist. Harvard University ran a controlled experiment pitting a custom AI against their own top-tier classrooms. And the results are going to collapse the higher education bubble. They took 194 undergraduates and split them up. One group learned physics in one of Harvardโ€™s best hands-on, active-learning physical classrooms. Group work. Instructor support. The premium university experience. The other group went home and learned the exact same material with an AI tutor. The AI didn't just win. It embarrassed the institution. Students using the AI learned more than twice as much as the students in the elite Harvard classroom. They scored 30% higher on the final assessment. And they did it in less time. Let that sink in. A piece of software sitting on a laptop outperformed a world-class faculty in one of the most elite learning environments on Earth. Universities have always justified their exorbitant tuition with two things: access to elite knowledge and the physical classroom experience. This study just proved both of those moats are gone. When software can teach you complex physics twice as well as a $60,000-a-year institution, the math of higher education breaks permanently. The AI didn't just give the students answers. It used strict pedagogical guardrails. It guided. It questioned. It forced the students to do the cognitive work. It offered perfect, one-to-one tutoring, personalized to the exact moment a student misunderstood a concept. That level of attention is mathematically impossible to scale in a physical lecture hall. For a thousand years, the university was the only place to get a premium education. Now, itโ€™s the bottleneck. If AI can double your learning speed for a fraction of the cost, what exactly are students taking on decades of debt to pay for?

Don't necessarily solve bigger problems. Solve *harder* problems. Harder should inherently be pushing the frontier. And it's ok if that becomes easier by the next gen. Just ramp up difficulty.

Single elements like water or volumetrics don't have as much value as they used to a year or two ago, but the coordination of hundreds of systems together to make games is still an incredibly hard creative & technical problem that AI is far from solving. In short: it's time to be way more ambitious, to focus on creative direction, and to bring a authentic human vision that will ALWAYS, always have value.

Despite all the black pillingย we are winning... Catholic converts are at their highest point in 20 years.ย This doesn't even include 2026 numbers that are going to blow it out of the water. The world is becoming Catholic.

If you are a software engineer "experiencing some degree of mental health crisis", now hear this, because I've been coding for 50 years since the days of punched cards and I have a salutary kick in your ass to deliver. Get over yourself. Every previous "programming is obsolete" panic has been a bust, and this one's going to be too. The fundamental problem of mismatch between the intentions in human minds and the specifications that a computer can interpret hasn't gone away just because now you can do a lot of your programming in natural language to an LLM. Systems are still complicated. This shit is still difficult. The need for people who specialize in bridging that gap isn't going to go away. As usual, the answer is: upskill yourself and adapt. If a crusty old fart like me can do it, you can too.
I don't know why this week became the tipping point, but nearly every software engineer I've talked to is experiencing some degree of mental health crisis.

If compulsory DEI training at a university is actually illegal under state law, shouldn't a professor subjected to it have the right to sue? Well, of course he should. That's what fellow Christian philosopher @Dr_OwenAnderson, in an important case, is doing. ๐Ÿงต
