I never thought I'd see the day when Traducianism became a point of discussion...
The Church has condemned Traducianism for around 1,500 years. I think @JoelWebbon's adherence to it is misplaced and unnecessary for explaining the distinction between peoples.

Just READ the WHOLE book. The βnovam haeresim evolutionismiβ Cardinal Billot is critiquing is transformistic evolutionism (modernist heresy), NOT homogenous evolutionism (Catholic dogma defined at V1).

This has been probably the darkest 24 hours Iβve ever experienced on social media in my life. The things being said about Samuel, his wife, and his small children are unthinkably evil. There is a segment of the so-called βChristianβ nationalist crowd that has given itself completely over to Satan. Iβve never had more resolve to defeat these subversive demons invading the Right and invading Christianity.

Being antisemitic with the hermeneutic of continuity π€
tl;dr from Trent Horn's new video:
Church teaching has already changed from what Scripture & Tradition approved on D.P. for adulterers/thieves, anti-semitism, and slavery, therefore no problem with another change.

I don't think I can describe how much I hate this.
Doing morally good (or even indifferent) acts motivated by charity will save your soul.
God sent His Son to redeem the entire universe and to restore all things in Him. You sin by not caring about what is closest to you.
Notice moral laxists in the Church only apply laxism to thing they really want to do and never things they find yucky. Curious!

Why do you respond with an emoji when a mohammedan shin worshipper says he fake dreamed about becoming Catholic
Conventionally, we speak of the "punishment due to venial sin" being expiated in purgatory. While this is common, it is not entirely true.
Every sin, whether mortal or venial, must be expiated (according to the ordinary law) by either satisfaction on earth or satispassion in purgatory. With regard to mortal sin, it occurs that there is a commutation of the sentence to temporal punishment, but the temporal punishment is still the temporal punishment of a mortal sin.
This is an incredible resource.

@WalmartThomist How come you can rebuke Lofton over his interpretation of documents concerning the salvation of Muslims but when he becomes a full on Jihadist sympathizer you stay silent?
There is a relatively easy way to demonstrate this.
Give someone a passage from an approved theological text from 1870 and one from 1910β¦there is a very high chance that they will be indistinguishable.
Now, do the same with a text from 1940 and one from 1980. The opposite.

Not as a cause in my opinion (as a remote occasion? maybe). Aeterni Patris was about doing triage to rebuild a theological culture. It got rebuilt (not perfectly). It started to get going again. The theologianology problem as we know it developed later.
