Democrats, in fact, would be the ones harmed by slowdowns in Westchester County. Bizarre conspiratorial message from a member of Congress—they’ve got paper ballots and election observers from each party. Westchester may be slower today, but no reason to believe it’s insecure
No surprise. The Democrats in NY will do anything and everything to cheat.

In an interview with @WIRED, @ZohranKMamdani just came out in favor of restricting facial recognition and biometric surveillance at places like Madison Square Garden. It's his first statement to that effect as @NYCMayor.

Wildly irresponsible post. Westchester is the Democratic core of #NY17: if voters there are discouraged from casting ballots, the beneficiary will be Mike Lawler.
This is how the Left steals elections. Mike Lawler’s competitive district and they are turning away voters.

The Westchester County Board of Elections (BOE) is aware of an issue involving paper ballots that is preventing voting machines from accepting ballots at polling locations throughout the County. The Westchester Board of Elections wants to reassure every voter that your vote matters, your ballot will be secure and your vote will be counted. The Board of Elections is in constant communication with New York State officials, Westchester County Government and poll workers to address this issue and ensure that voting continues with as little disruption as possible. In the meantime, voters should continue to complete their paper ballots as instructed by poll workers. Ballots will be placed in designated orange emergency ballot bags, which will remain secure and monitored. These ballots will subsequently be counted in accordance with applicable election procedures. We strongly encourage all voters to remain in line, exercise patience and, most importantly, cast their ballots. The BOE sincerely apologizes to voters and poll workers for the inconvenience this situation has caused, and the BOE recognizes the importance of a smooth and efficient voting process. They are taking every necessary step to address the issue as quickly as possible. Let us be absolutely clear: Every eligible vote will be counted. No voter should be discouraged from participating in this election because of this issue. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Please stay in line and vote.

This is fucking disgusting and a crime against humanity. This company is growing real human neurons to use for computing. We don't know how consciousness works! It's bad enough that we don't know what to think of brain-like LLMs. This company says fuck it, remove all doubt, make the computer out of human parts! If you don't think the neurons they are using now are conscious, do you think this is where it ends? No! Obviously not. Obviously if they can get more performance out of something more brain-like they will. We cannot allow them to use literal human brains as computer products. And they know they're doing something horrible. They chose to name their product "mischief" and launch with a "happy halloween" nod. The AI companies are attacking our society in places where we don't have laws yet. Our government needs to react fast.
today, we introduce a little mischief to the world. for four years, we’ve been brewing real brain cells on electrodes to understand how they compute. now, we’ve turned those discoveries into a video model anyone can use. from 0.5¢ a second, mischief 1 is at least 5x faster than its base and the cheapest image-to-video model on @fal and @OpenRouter. soon to be on @awscloud marketplace. it’s not a delusion anymore. biocompute is real, commercial and this is just the beginning. happy halloween.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

“Distributed human labor is being used to train AI models by large, centralized actors, who concentrate the resulting profits while in the long run making the human labor obsolete.” Dario Amodei himself explaining how he profits from stealing the products of labor
As Anthropic prepares to IPO for over $1 trillion, a reminder of Dario Amodei’s words shortly after founding the company: “Distributed human labor is being used to train AI models by large, centralized actors, who concentrate the resulting profits while in the long run making the human labor obsolete.” In other words, this IPO will be built off the backs of the world’s creatives - who will get nothing out of it except obsolescence. It is a totally unjust transfer of wealth and opportunity from artists, writers, musicians & other creatives to a tiny tech elite. I hope it is remembered as such. (this quote is from a document he wrote that was unsealed in Bartz v. Anthropic)

in this case I suspect doing things in person will become, far and away the easiest way to do anything. taking the example of restaurant reservations which tech people believe is society’s biggest problem—going to a restaurant during off hours and talking to the host stand works!

To be a journalist is to spend your entire career simultaneously aspiring to work at the New York Times and deeply resenting it for stealing so many local stories without giving credit.
NEW: The Times’s Credit Crisis A recent New York Times front-page feature on chemical plants in the Trump era had deep reporting, stark data visuals, and an uncanny resemblance to a smaller outlet’s earlier investigation. Was this a case of unacknowledged inspiration, a steroidal dose of Times exceptionalism, or sheer coincidence? puck.news/media/2026/10/did-…
