I am a medical student at KCL, all of the GEMs and now newly appointed HEMs have a background in nursing, paramedicine and PA.
Each and every one has said Y1 of medicine has superseded their competence and is finding medicine a surprisingly difficult degree.

The public are deeply concerned that paramedics, nurses and other clueless AHPs are masquerading as ICU registrars and looking after critically ill patients. 💀☠️☠️
⭕️ They are openly bragging about how 170 medical rota gaps were covered by cheaper staff.
⭕️ They are allowed to work as senior decision-makers without undergoing the structured intensive care training that doctors go through.
⭕️ AHPs should stick to their roles. They are NOT DOCTORS.
This is verging on criminality.
