What's interesting about this ad that by all accounts may have won Colom this race is that this ad isn't aggressive or mean at all. It's fun and pleasant, and it shows there's a gigantic audience out there for political ads that aren't just ppl completely eviscerating each other.

Sen. Banks seems to be confusing a random troll account with an official Bayh campaign account.
Two days after being elected to Secretary of State the campaign of @beaubayh is calling for me to be thrown into federal prison.
Democrats like Bayh aren’t serious about making your life better, they’re focused on silencing their political opponents.

As a lifelong Republican, I have a suggestion for my party. Let’s try governing as conservatives again. Real conservatives. Free market conservatives. Free trade conservatives. Small government conservatives. Fiscal conservatives. Cultural conservatives. Leader of the free world, peace through strength conservatives. Pro-democracy conservatives. Anti-authoritarian conservatives. Personal values conservatives. Patriotic but not nationalist conservatives. Capitalism but not state capitalism conservatives. Federalist conservatives. And most of all: Rule of Law conservatives.

This isn’t hard. He lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
Wow. For years, an official in Arkansas allegedly tampered with bar exam scores, pulling points from some test takers and giving them to others.
This caused numerous failing exams to pass, and resulted in "at least one instance" where an otherwise passing exam fell below the requisite threshold.

honestly this seems like proof enough that we have to shrink the government because if we had a smaller government it wouldn’t be a shattering moment just because one party won or lost. we should not be held hostage by election results

Hell of a thing to demand states hand over voters’ personal information and require proof of citizenship, then refuse to vote yourself because you don’t want your address on the very voter rolls you think the federal government should have access to.

DeSantis is looking like a great presidential nominee for 2028
He’s all over the airwaves today
He’s saying all the right things, including on the Iran War, Epstein files, etc.
Definitely someone I would love to get behind. Also I’m here in Florida right now and it is such a beautiful place to live…

Beyond the U.S. election results, there's something else you should care about:
My friend Joshua Wong has been sentenced to another 10 years in prison for his peaceful advocacy of democracy in Hong Kong.
He's been behind bars for over 2,100 days. When the police knocked on his door, Biden had just been elected, the iPhone 12 was brand new, and OpenAI had only recently launched the GPT-3 API for developers. He has not walked free since November 2020.
—
In 2016, I was elected as the youngest member of the legislature in Hong Kong. Joshua led the election campaign and worked 18 hours a day. I promised Joshua that we'd form a caucus together in the next term, in 2020, when he'd be old enough to run.
It turned out to be the last time Hong Kong held a Legislative Council election in which a genuine political opposition could compete (though only around half the seats were electable). Beijing later imposed an election reform to make Hong Kong's election more like Iran's.
Since 2020, the Chinese regime has dismantled Hong Kong's civil society and cracked down on political dissent. Nearly two thousand people have been imprisoned on political grounds. Many others have left the city to seek refuge elsewhere. I fled and was granted asylum in the UK.
Joshua is expected to leave prison at 40, after 16 years in jail. Some say he’s naive or reckless; I fiercely disagree. He's one of the most strategic, persistent and risk-taking people I know. He might well have become an amazing entrepreneur if he'd been born elsewhere.
He’s brave enough to do something most wouldn’t: risking his freedom to stand up for what’s true and right. I am so humbled by his dedication, and proud to call him my dear friend.
When I left Hong Kong, I had no idea that we wouldn't be able to speak for nearly six years. Now, plus ten. When you're young, and work is so intense and busy, you never think to take time to chat. When you're young, and work is so intense and busy, you don't always think to make time just to get together. When people asked me what I regretted most, I often said I hadn't spent enough time simply hanging out with the brilliant people around me. I still feel that loss deeply.
I wish I could see him as soon as possible. Joshua should be released immediately.

If you don’t know who Joshua is, I suggest you turn on Netflix and search for his name. No matter how long the authoritarian Chinese regime keeps him imprisoned, his name has already been written into history as one of the bravest activists to stand up against one of the world's most powerful autocracies. Even behind bars, he continues to demonstrate extraordinary courage.

This is wild. Democrats would've basically swept the state if Republicans redistricted as Trump demanded. The only survivor would've been Erin Houchin.
This is insane! Here is a map of yesterday’s Indiana House results if they were drawn under the attempted Republican gerrymander map from last Fall. Thank you to @Vulst3 for breaking down the data to make this map. The gerrymander could’ve netted us a 9-0 or 8-1 map potentially!

The position of “Joe Biden was too loose with the border” used to get you condemned as a fascist xenophobe and now it’s so baked in that the most left wing Senate candidate echoed it and nobody even really seemed to notice

This democracy of ours is of the people, by the people and for the people. If you go to Washington and you don’t do your job, the people that sent you there will send you right back home. Americans spoke up loud and clear that they want a new direction in Washington and new leadership to take us there. Now, it’s time for Congress to come together to bring costs down, bring civility back to the forefront, and improve Americans’ lives.
