Last week a well known Labour supporting business man called @JohnSwinney a "dictator", today Tory business woman thinks @StephenFlynnSNP should act like King Canute & hold back the waves: xitter.cf/JohnnyDundee/status/21… The Brits in Scotland are becoming more hysterical by the day.
STV News reporter Vanessa Taafft should take full responsibility for not informing viewers that shop owner Toni Dawson's attempts to politicise Storm damage is down to her being an ex-Tory Party candidate for the area. Doing the Tories dirty work, Vanessa? xitter.cf/msm_monitor/status/211…

So ignorant again, James. The same shop owner was pictured grinning with a Tory MSP, the same afternoon. She is a Tory activist and candidate.

The fiasco yesterday where a former Tory candidate was the star of every broadcast outlet as she berated Stephen Flynn was an example of how lazy and open to manipulation Scotland's broadcast media is. The reporters wanted some drama and the shop owner knew it. Facts weren't important as evidenced by the moronic questioning from the STV reporter who effectively accused Flynn of covering drains with tarmac. It's not bias per-se. The reporters, STV, BBC, SKY, Clyde, LBC et al likely had no idea the shop owner was a former Tory candidate. That said, even had they known they'd have said nothing lest their little melodrama clip be binned. We can but hope they were embarrassed when seeing the image of the shop owner smiling as she was photographed standing in her shop with Russell Findlay later that same afternoon.

How interesting that you choose to stand in front of the shop owned by your friend and former candidate. Someone who, along with others, campaigned to block proposals for a sea wall because it would spoil the view.

...and the shopkeeper is an ex tory candidate and pal of Findlay. It was 100% a stitch up...making cheap tawdry political capital out of a disaster. Doesn't get much lower than that tbh.
STV reporter Vanessa Taaffe tonight accused Stephen Flynn of paving over drains in Largs. Moronic doesn't begin to cover this so-called question. Victims of the storm deserve better than a cheap jibe designed to provoke a reaction from the transport minister. Do better STV.

Is @STVNews reporter Vanessa Taafft REALLY going to pretend she didn't know the Largs seafront shop owner Toni Dawson was a Tory Party candidate? Taafft's attacking SNP's Stephen Flynn re: blocked drains knowing he couldn't say anything other than 'sorry', is entirely political

This is the woman who, earlier, had a smiley picture taken with Scottish Tory "leader" Russell Findlay. Not devastated but smiling. But hey blame the Stephen Flynn and the SNP.

Good news for Brazil and democracy. Bad news for Trump and Netanyahu who would have had an ally in Flavio Bolsonaro.

Opening Line from Sanderson of the Sunday Times "Hundreds of public sector workers in Scotland are costing the tax payer at least 27m a year because their jobs no longer exist and the SNP refuses to make them redundant" Just fundamentally untrue ⁉️ 1. Employee remains performing roles within their organisation 2. They can be asked to take roles at lower grades and pay 3. If they refuse or finding alternative suitable position is unlikely then they can be made redundant workforce.nhs.scot/policies/…

This is totally dishonest. The White House didn’t work with Pope Leo XIV on securing this temporary ceasefire. Leo XIV was involved with this for months. Even while he was in the hospital recovering from lung cancer surgery, he called Putin and then Zelenskyy. The pope wasn’t a supporting actor. He was the protagonist.
Melania Trump tells me she spoke to both Zelensky and Putin about the Ukraine ceasefire: “We talked. We signed the agreement.” She thanked Pope Leo for his support and didn’t rule out a trip to Ukraine. POTUS said she’s doing better than his advisers.
