Romans 14:22-23 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore, let us no longer criticize one another.

Romans 2:28-29 NIV A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code...

"Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival [Halloween] or a new moon or a Sabbath day — things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement . . . If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)" -- God, Col 2:16ff

Maybe I'm just dense, but this kind of statement seems to depend heavily on equivocation. What does it mean to say that Christ 𝘪𝘴 exegesis? Or does it mean that Christ is the product of the exegesis? It's made to sound impious even to question it. It also sounds like nonsense.
“Christ is both the exegesis of Scripture and its exegete. He explains it to us by his Spirit, and in explaining it he is himself explained.” — Craig Bartholomew

The late, preeminent OT and Hebrew scholar Bruce K. Waltke, said (in 1988) the NT teaches the "hard fact that national Israel and its law have been permanently replaced by the church and the New Covenant." H.K. LaRondelle (in 1983) affirmed that "Israel would no longer be the people of God and would be replaced by a people that would accept the Messiah and His message of the kingdom of God." He says this "people" is the church who replaces "the Christ-rejecting nation." Lorraine Boettner wrote in 1957: "It may seem harsh to say that 'God is done with the Jews.' But the fact of the matter is that He is through with them as a unified national group having anything more to do with the evangelization of the world. That mission has been taken from them and given to the Christian Church (Matt. 21:43)." Herman Ridderbos in 1975 defined the supersessionist view as: "… the church takes the place of Israel as the historical people of God." It's my understanding that supersessionists prefer something like "fulfillment theology" but in their explanation of what that means they often describe "replacement theology" without using the term. For those interested in this question, I'd recommend "Has the Church Replaced Israel?" by Michael Vlach.

If you just drained all the water from the tub, it would be contiguous. So what?
A map of Antarctica without the ice. Hands up if you thought the land was contiguous?

I would display this precious moment in my living room if it were real.

They absolutely are. Modern-looking Homo sapiens clearly interbred with Neandertal-looking h. sapiens, proving they are members of the same biological species. Hugh Ross totally botches this, as @Fred_Butler explains creation.com/en/articles/nea…

My son's junior-year high-school English class finally switched from young-adult fiction about how hard it is to have identity X to Whitman, Dickinson, and other American classics. He told me, "I totally see why these authors have the status they do. They give you so much more to think about and the writing is next-level." The canon, if we can even still use that word, is what it is for a reason. We have to trust that students can see that, and quit feeding them pablum that "reflects their experience," etc.

No one struggles with literal interpretation of other books. They only struggle with Scripture because they don’t like what it teaches. They would rather warp the meaning of “literal” to abuse figures of speech, and come up with absurd imagery, rather than respect the text.
Replying to @MikeChalmers_
I struggle with the literal interpretation because I end up with having to believe the earth looks something like this

1 Tim 5 and 2 Thess 3 both connect being a busybody with idleness. Find actual important work to do or you may end up becoming fixated on conspiracies, rumors, gossip, and fruitless controversies of your own making.

When someone I don't know tells me he is a Christian, my impulse is to say, "Let's study the Bible together." If he's a believer, he'll grow in grace as the Spirit wields the sword. If he's a false professor, he'll be confronted with the gospel. Seems like a win-win.
Replying to @DavidMSmithLB
okay, so then what do we do? either way, it actually doesn't change anything. We share the Gospel. I'm called to serve you Christ. If I find out you're really an unbeliever, that changes my prayers some, but not my ministry. Believers and unbelievers need the Gospel. honestly, my assessment, 99.9% of the issues people have, regardless of age / how long been a believer come from a deficient view of the Gospel. So I share the Gospel :) and unfortunately, b/c none of us are glorified here, it also means the better we know someone, the more likely we'll know their weakness / blind spots.

Is it a problem to represent the entire body of a man's teaching with a single quotation? How about attributing words of one author to a different person? Should a historian be held to a high standard on his use of sources? ebcelkhorn.com/the-rise-and-…

Ok, I really need @NCravatt to tell me that Mitch Cannup is not a plant by Crossway or the Lockman Foundation. Unreal! 😆
When we as King James Bible believers say Bible-believers, what we mean is King James Bible believers. There's a difference between being a KJB user & and King James Bible believer. That "use" stuff is pragmatism, not faith. #BadPreacherClips Kyle Kiker Evangelist Mitch Canupp

I sat my 7-year-old down and explained to him that dying industries (legacy media, academia, DNC politics) ride algorithmically driven cultural hysterias both because it’s the only way they can stay relevant and because their business models demand it. He looked up at me and with a tear in his eyes asked, ‘so, for the sake of the journos, the assistant professors, and Dem Politics Inc, we’re obligated to attest to the moral urgency of the hysteria and act completely emotionally dysregulated?’ ‘Yes,’ I answered him. ‘Yes, that’s right.’ And then we both sat quietly.
