🤦♂️ Iowa is heading down the wrong path with these proposed bills on autonomous vehicles.
Instead of embracing innovation like Tesla’s Robotaxi in major cities or Tesla’s ongoing FSD advancements, lawmakers are pushing restrictions that would:
- Require a human driver for any commercial use (HF 2375) — blocking airport shuttles, robotaxis, deliveries, etc.
- Make owners fully liable even in no-fault crashes (HSB 598), like getting T-boned by a drunk driver while the AV has a green light.
This protects unions and trial lawyers more than public safety or progress.
The tech is advancing rapidly - federal standards are coming - but Iowa risks being left behind, stifling jobs, efficiency, and safer roads long-term.
We need forward-thinking policy, not fear-based bans. Iowa should lead on innovation, not lag.

When you wonder why Elon is “all in” on Trump, watch this. Talk about being absolutely shunned by your countries leadership. It truly boggles the mind how poorly Tesla/Elon was treated by this administration. How can our country not celebrate the unbelievable success Tesla has achieved ?
