I know this against Ohio, but Arvell Reese just absolutely rag dolling this tackle with a long arm stab and shed is absurd

There are just enough degrees of separation here that make me think this is realistic haha

I know none of you will beleive me, but one of my fraternity brothers sister is married to an nfl agent, they golf all the time. He just told me there is a trade being finalized for JT right now and the Vikings are the front runners. - again I know how this sounds, but LFG!

If I'm the Colts GM, I'm attacking the defensive side of the ball in FA. I don't think you're finding a ton of starters on offense (aside from a new, 1y placeholder QB) that you'd put in your long term plans. They're going to have to hit with some Day 2 picks there.

You're not adding a starter in FA on the OL. Maybe you add a TE2 like Tommy Tremble. If you trade JT maybe you can get a guy who can committee with McGowan, but that's not a core piece. At WR the only needle mover that may be available is Pickens, and that's not happening.

Playing contrarian- Setting aside the idea of resigning Nelson as a team building strategy through a rebuild, one I'd endorse, I think the exploding guard market and a league wide re-emphasis on running the ball should have warranted higher compensation than historical precendent
This is important context for those who think the Colts sold low on Nelson. Guards in general - much less on a contract year! - don't generate much trade value. It's hard to see him go. But the value of the trade is perfectly fine.

Now in all likelihood the incompetence of the organization to showcase any positive momentum during his tenure + the ostensible lack of effort towards an extension in the summer lead to Q informing the FO he would be packing his bags after the year. No leverage -> 3rd rounder

This is the actual exciting part imo. It’s such a blank slate that there are nearly endless avenues to pursue for a new GM. Personally I’d go after guys who flashed on their rookie deals but maybe didn’t put it all together. Structure them to give you flexibility if they flop.
The Colts are going to sign so many free agents this next cycle lol. They are going to have upwards of 130 million in cap space once they cut Daniel Jones

I think Yaya Diaby fits this mold. I’d probably add a veteran linebacker to help straighten things out on what projects to be an extremely young defense. Mack Wilson would be great for that. There’s tons of other role players to take shots on as well.

This is a fair point. I think it’d be wise to take a shot on a few guys you think could break out and come in at the 15-18 APY range this FA cycle. The Comp pick would end up being a 5th or something in that scenario
Fans need to stop saying “Colts would have received a 3rd round compensatory pick for Quenton Nelson”. The Colts are rebuilding, with an absurd amount of cap space, and no 1st. You don’t think the new GM is going to sign a couple expensive FAs that would negate the comp picks?

Yup. I figured they’d hold onto him and try to extend him. You hold onto talented OL, especially one of Nelson’s caliber, even through a rebuild. The comp being what it is makes me think there had to be some type of knowledge league wide he wasn’t interested in resigning.

Colts D vs Vikings Pt. 2: Tomi with another quick win against Darrisaw to muck things up in the B gap so that Jones has to bounce right to the filling ADG

JTT brought it against the run, and honestly so did ADG. Both of them defeat blocks on this counter run to keep Jordan Mason to a short gain.

Ending it with this one. No analysis. Extend him yesterday.

Colts v Vikings D Thread Part 1: Vikings run what looks like split zone and Tomi just wins against the downblock of the RT to blow it up.

Welcome in Germaine Pratt! Coverage ends up looking like Tampa 2, but both Pratt and ADG are running the pole, leaving nobody in the flat. Luckily KM has an inexplicable miss here, or else this would have been a chunk. Maybe it's 2-roll since ADG walls, but somebody is wrong.
