Two Ethiopian-Americans made U.S. headlines today in a striking twist of fate: Abraham Teklu Lemma was convicted of treason for leaking classified U.S. intelligence to the Ethiopian regime during the Tigray war. Melat Kiros, a young Gen Z woman with Tigrayan roots, was just elected to the U.S. Congress.

“Lemma pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transmit national defense information to a foreign government and has agreed to be incarcerated for a period of between 120 and 262 months.” He deserves life in prison.
A former US Gov’t IT contractor pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit espionage. Between 2021-23, he abused his administrative access to steal classified documents, satellite imagery & notes, passing them to Ethiopian officials for their war on #Tigray. justice.gov/opa/pr/former-us…

Huge red flag 🚩 An invention!? Really? As simple as that. This very individual has been doing all kinds of crimes against humanity and genocide during the #Tigray war. He was blatantly denying it regardless international outlets coverage throughout the war.
Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki backs Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying the country itself is an "invention" of the West to hold Moscow back and contain its influence.

This .@getachew_temare turns to a reporter mode when the wrong-doing is from any other than the #TPLF and inflict it to #TPLF’s problem as a scapegoat. But if the wrong-doing is from #TPLF, he uses his activist mode blaming for every evil in #Tigray. Disingenuous!
Footage purportedly showing foreign military personnel discussing what appears to be military equipment in central Tigray, near the Eritrean border, has triggered an extraordinary wave of reactions. Foreign involvement in Tigray’s devastating wars is hardly a revelation. The region has long been a battleground for competing domestic and external interests. What is particularly striking, however, is the irony of the TPLF vice-president sharing the footage to condemn the presence of foreign mercenaries, even as his own party’s leadership is aligning with foreign forces in its struggle for political survival.

This is sad 😢 what are these Israeli’s doing in #Tigray? .@reda_getachew is this what you are doing to unseat your previous comrades? And what do they get in return?
English speaking foreign mercenaries in Tigray.

It’s interesting. High-ranking Eritrean generals use Ethiopia’s phone network while working hard to destabilize Ethiopia. These generals are very sick.

When you are trying too hard to stay relevant &consistent opponent of the #TPLF, you start to erase the symbol of your struggle &identity like below the below. #DimtsiWeyane is not only media but a struggle identity enshrined in the triumph of our heroes and heroines.
The controversy surrounding the renaming of Dimtsi Woyane tigray reveals something far more troubling than a dispute over a media institution. It exposes how deeply the TPLF succeeded in blurring the distinction between a political party and the identity of an entire people. Who decided that a partisan propaganda institution, which helped sustain decades of political monopoly and distorted Tigray’s political culture, should be treated as an indispensable symbol of Tigrayan identity? I understand why committed TPLF supporters resist the change. What I find intellectually indefensible is the position of those who claim to oppose the TPLF while treating its former propaganda apparatus as though it were embedded in Tigray’s DNA. The legitimate concern over attempts to erase Tigrayan history must never become an excuse for preserving the political mythology of the TPLF. Renaming a broadcaster is not, by itself, historical erasure. Destroying historical records would be. Tigray existed before the TPLF, and it will exist long after it. A people whose identity is reduced to the institutions of a political party have not yet achieved genuine political emancipation

The facial expression on #Putin 😂 🤪 He didn’t talk about #Eritrea in all his stay.
Putin MEETS Eritrea President Isaias Afwerki

The question should have been like - “ What do you think the #Ethiopian government would be able to achieve by coming to Russia and what projects would be feasible”? He could have gone to a lengthly political analysis of the #Ethiopian state. He is an expert on that 🤪
The reporter asks: "What concrete projects does Eritrea seek to develop with Russia in trade, energy, digital technology, payment systems and food security?" Isaias Afwerki: "We don't come here to talk about Eritrea." 😂

.@reda_getachew and Co - You are responsible for the lives of innocent people. This is not about #TPLF but the very people you say you fight for. You are in the luxury of power while innocent lives are lost every day. You have to challenge your boss to stop raiding and bombing.
The fascist regime of Abiy Ahmed has murdered 12 civilians in Rama today, 30 October 2026, using drone strikes. Tigrayan civilians and civilian infrastructure have been his main targets since he launched the genocidal war against Tigray on November 4, 2020. #TigrayGenocide @hrw @amnesty @UN_HRC @UNHumanRights

I think the problem here is the lack of understanding the regime in #Asmara. It neither does have the interest to make any meaningful bilateral relations nor economic cooperation. #Isaias basically prioritizes challenging the global structure to benefit from instability.

I can’t agree more. He is more interested in “attacking” the West containment strategy than the immediate need of bread and butter of the #Eritrean people. Unless it is military cooperation, he has literally nothing to offer for bilateral relations.
President Isaias was in Moscow for the Russia-Africa Summit. In an interview with Sputnik, he made it abundantly clear he was “not coming from the vantage point of Eritrea and Eritrean interests because it has nothing to do with the reality on the ground.” One is at a loss what to make of such a statement coming, as it does, from a leader of an impoverished nation that spends most of its meager resources more to bankroll destabilizing campaigns throughout the region than in building badly needed clinics or schools. Far from pursuing bilateral relations that could perhaps help improve the plight of his people, he has made it perfectly clear he is more interested in ‘righting the wrongs’ in the global financial system including addressing the containment policy against Russia than in taking care of bread and butter issues of the people of Eritrea. In light of President Isaias’ proclivities to punching above his weight, such grandstanding is not entirely out of character. What’s so striking about his remarks in Moscow, however, his dismissal of the relevance of individual countries’ cases including that of Eritrea as agenda in the summit in Moscow called exactly to address Russia’s relations with African countries. Many on social media were commenting on President Isaias’ dejected look, with his hands loosely hanging by his waist, and looking confused and out of place. Indeed, for a casual observer, the Eritrean president cut a sad figure throughout the summit and appeared to have difficulty fitting in the hustle bustle in Moscow. But that’s beside the point. The bottomline is President Isaias didn’t hold any bilats, didn’t address the gathering nor proffer his unsolicited views on global order to the Summit. He was just too bored to broach such silly subjects as Russo-Eritrean relations or Russo-African relations. If anything, this is yet another admission by the Eritrean President for life that when it comes to his priorities as a leader it is the unfairness in the global order, not Eritrea’s national interest, that comes front and center. After all, Eritrea has always been too small a project for a president whose imperial overreach knows no boundaries.

He is literally calling for a new global economic policy and new political order. Until then, he is not willing to do any business 😂 Provoking for more war and destruction as if #Rusia has not enough of it. #Isaias is a well known and accomplished catalyst of instability.

Always looking for sympathy and scapegoat. It is over 3 decades now in power leaving #Eritrea and the #Eritrean people under complete poverty and militarization. There is no peace in the Horn of Africa unless this one man dictatorial regime is removed from power.
📌 EXCLUSIVE | Eritrean president slams unilateral sanctions as modern "slavery," demands their removal Current restrictive measures serve as tools of imposing conditionalities, containing Russia, and controlling Africa, Isaias Afwerki told Sputnik Africa during the Russia-Africa Summit. 👉 No one has the right to impose sanctions, he argued, describing them as "unlawful" and "illegal" violations of international law and fundamental UN resolutions.
