Let me get this straight: Many of us moved to Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley and North San Fernando Valley because housing was more affordable, the neighborhoods were safer for raising a family and the public schools were better. Commuting to LA isn’t enjoyable but we do it because we chose our families first. Now, our politicians want to tax our commute?
Highest gas taxes; highest sales taxes; among the highest income taxes; among the highest for utilities; among the highest DMV fees. And now, politicians are going to impose a tax on us, the ones who couldn’t afford getting a house closer to LA City, for driving to work?

Road maintenance.
Interesting.
CA makes about $9B annually with the nation’s highest gas tax. That money is for road maintenance.
But somehow we have the worst roads. Potholes on the streets, and more dangerously, on the freeways; roads that haven’t been repaved for decades; raised ridges in the road from old and uneven asphalt; etc.
Obviously this $9B is not being spent on road maintenance. It is being stolen.
Additionally, you have the CA state campaign to get everyone in an EV car, without considering the reduction in people paying the gas tax. Their solution: this mileage tax. Just for the EVs? Oh no, for everyone. For the gas tax payers and also the EV drivers.
All because they need that money that does NOT go to road maintenance, to stay at $9B annually.
Thieves.

It’s starting to seem like Gavin Newsom‘s high speed rail project is just another hundred billion dollar taxpayer fraud scheme

Why don’t my neighbors care about this? 👇🏽
The savior complex is somehow far stronger than the human desire for safety, law, and order 😰

Gov. Newsom Spending $19 Million to Polish His and California’s Image.
Newsom ignores that California also has the nation’s highest poverty rate. Businesses continue to flee the state. Homeowners and property insurance markets are on life support. K-12 test scores are among the lowest in the country. Homelessness and high crime remain visible failures of state policy.

I hate when people flee blue states for greener pastures, only to bring their shitty policies with them.
It never dawns on them that the policies they supported might be why they left in the first place.

There is absolutely no way this state is going to allow the largest wealth transfer in world history slip through their fingers. The wealth transfer is about to begin and they can smell the money slipping away. This state is Ground Zero -- all the baby boomers who moved to California in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, bought low, want their kids to inherit their homes and wealth over the next decade or so.
Don't you guys get it - its not about the billionaires. It's about the trillions in equity locked up in thousands of 1400 sq foot ranches and 2500 sq foot craftsmans and sprawling mansions.
They want it and they're coming for it and they're going to take it from the white boomers and redistribute it to their more favored clients.

🚨Mary Peltola in August:
“It should be a criminal offense to lie or mislead the electorate. YES!”
100% of politicians involved in making this a reality in San Francisco and 100% of the people who continue to vote for them are evil.
Lurie is about to consolidate power in a very real way and he better finally do something otherwise he’s evil too.

Not exactly an earth-shattering revelation. Effort has been funded by the left from the start.
Another reason why ranked choice voting is such a joke.

A few months ago, Mary Peltola said: “It should be a criminal offense to lie or mislead the electorate.”
Her staff was just exposed for plotting an effort to recruit a fake candidate with the same name as her opponent with the sole purpose of misleading voters.
Charge her for election interference.

BREAKING: NYT reports that operatives with Democratic Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign were behind the effort to find & recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent GOP Senator Dan S. Sullivan in an effort to confuse voters and peel votes from him.
Specifically, NYT says they have reviewed text messages and documents that reveal in summer 2025, a Peltola staffer received instructions from campaign staffers to find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as possible.
The staffer complied, going through voter records, and compiled a list. The operation “involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
Per NYT:
“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.”

NYT: This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.
“The Peltola campaign has repeatedly denied any involvement in his candidacy. But The Times has found, based on interviews and text messages, along with documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign, that not only did Ms. Peltola’s team work with people trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan to run for Senate, but the effort was much broader. The group worked to coax other would-be spoilers into the race, to dilute the incumbent’s support and help catapult the Democrat to victory.
