It was a very close race between @SenKirkmeyer and @victormarx (I voted for @ScottBottomsCO). But I wonder if Victor even considered Barb for his Lt Gov position or if she would even have accepted it. I do know she is great at facts and the budget. This is just one example.

Rep. Brittany Pettersen wants an emergency $3 billion more for LIHEAP because “energy costs are rising.”
Let’s be clear about why those costs are rising in Colorado.
For years, Democrats in the legislature, the Polis administration, and the PUC have pursued natural gas phase-downs, net-zero building mandates, Clean Heat targets that force utilities to cut gas emissions 41% by 2035 (and aim for elimination by 2050), and some of the strictest oil-and-gas rules in the country. New energy codes reward all-electric construction and make staying on gas more expensive. The PUC is limiting investment in the gas system and signaling its decline. The result is higher bills for the people who still use natural gas—the majority of Colorado households.
Their solution is not cheaper energy. It’s more welfare.
LIHEAP (LEAP in Colorado) is means-tested. Eligibility is capped around 60% of state median income. A working family of four earning above roughly $85k gets nothing, even as their heating and electric bills climb because of the same policies. The middle class that pays the taxes and doesn’t qualify for the subsidy is told to “suck it up.”
Meanwhile, the program is available to qualified noncitizens (lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, and others who meet the status rules). So the same political coalition that drives up energy costs through anti-gas, anti-oil, net-zero mandates then turns around and asks for billions more in federal money that flows to lower-income households—including recent legal arrivals—while the Colorado middle class that is too high-income for the cutoff gets no relief.
This isn’t a plan to make energy affordable. It’s a plan to keep raising the price of energy and then paper over the damage with taxpayer-funded assistance for the people who qualify under the income rules. The rest of us just pay more.
If the goal is lower heating costs this winter, stop the policies that are deliberately making natural gas and electricity more expensive. Don’t just demand more welfare.
I can't respond to Kyle because he blocked me after I reposted a video of him calling for unvaccinated people to be fired.
So he's like a toddler who throws a punch and then runs away.
I find this map of Lauren Boebert's district striking.
Never said land votes. But clearly, the rural-suburban divide deepens. Apparently, raising that is dim?

🚨BREAKING: Colorado’s new governor-elect Phil Weiser, who showed up at “No Kings” protests, is already signaling he wants to change two measures voters just approved.
Colorado voters passed ballot measures banning biological males from girls’ sports and restricting sex-change procedures on minors. Weiser responded by saying lawmakers will have to look at these “anti-trans measures” and decide what “adjustments” are necessary.
The same politician who rallied against kings now wants to override the clear will of the voters. This is the crowd that constantly cries “democracy.”

Apparently, “the voters have spoken” comes with fine print in Colorado.
When voters passed Proposition 114 to bring wolves into our communities, respecting the voters was the argument. Governor Polis even vetoed a bill requiring federal management protections before releases could begin, saying it “undermines the voters’ intent.”
Now voters approve Proposition 134 on school sports and Proposition 135 on certain surgeries for minors, and Phil Weiser wants to examine what “adjustments” are needed.
Well, that was quick. We barely put the voting booths away before the voters needed correcting.
Here’s the part everyone needs to understand. All three are citizen initiatives that change state statutes. All three require a simple majority. All three can be changed by the legislature.
The wolf vote was never legally untouchable. They chose to defend it.
But when voters pass something Democratic leadership opposes, suddenly the people’s decision needs some work.
Wolves? Respect the voters.
Sports and surgeries? Let’s make adjustments.
Yes, lawmakers have the authority to change these laws. That same authority exists for the wolf law. So explain why protecting the voters’ intent was such a priority then, but revisiting their decision is already on the agenda now.
What exactly needs adjusting, Phil? The implementation, or the outcome?
When are Coloradans going to demand the same respect for their votes regardless of which way they vote?

At this point, I’m convinced the AP’s delays in calling Props 134 & 135 are to intentionally kill/bury/delay the victory story.
We’re not waiting. ALL THREE @ProtectKidsCO measures **have passed**
Just call it already, @AP. With 94% of the vote in, Colorado voters ban sex change surgeries for kids.

On average, Americans pay about a 14.5% federal income tax rate, and the FAA is still using floppy disks.
That is one more reason the federal government should not be running anything, especially your healthcare.

Male on female team situation update! DAKOTA RIDGE coach stood up for his female players by stepping down! @JeffcoSchoolsCo @Outkick @AlejandroAveela @JackThompsonFOX @FoxFriendsFirst @Riley_Gaines_ @JenniferSey @athletes4action
When word spread that this coach had resigned, courage started spreading among Dakota Ridge families. He put his loyalty to the girls above his position. I’m sure he loved coaching, but this mattered more. That’s real conviction. The state of Colorado has now validated him! “This is not something I want to do, but I feel like I need to.” 💔

Colorado voters didn't just vote for higher taxes Tuesday.
They voted to let government keep more, spend more — and effectively end TABOR refunds.
Amendment 87. Prop NN. Prop 137.
I hate to say it, but TABOR is probably toast.
My latest @DenverGazette: 🔗👇
"Polis made a gambit. He publicly opposed Amendment 87 and backed Proposition NN — disregarding the possibility of both measures passing together. It looks like they did.
Now, Colorado faces a double whammy — higher taxes upfront, no more TABOR refunds later."

Competent journalists would be screaming from the highest mountain over governor-elect making public statements such as this only a few days after the election.
Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.

Interesting that I didn’t hear from CBS Colorado — you know, the proponent on the measures and leader of the organization who successfully passed this measure. You just went straight to the green haired election denier instead. Solid reporting.🙄

Hard to tell from the way Jesse worded this manipulative headline, but I'd say he's a fan of boys with a clear physical advantage dominating girls on the soccer field....

LET ME BE CLEAR: We are on OFFENSE, not defense.
Phil Weiser can throw hissy fits and be an election denier all he wants.
WE THE PEOPLE WON. Colorado voters spoke loud and clear, cutting through millions in opposition spending and misinformation.
Coloradans have proven they're wiser than the misinformation and they’re wiser than Weiser.
This victory was step ONE, not the finish line.
We the People are just getting started. And anyone contemplating undermining the voters' decision would be making a serious mistake to underestimate us.
