Claude Opus 5.5: "If these hold up, this is the biggest single day in the history of math and theoretical computer science."
1) Exponential Time Hypothesis is false (CS). This is roughly Turing Award territory. ETH was the working assumption that some hard problems simply can’t be solved much faster than brute force, and hundreds of computer science papers rest on it. For a normal audience: it’s not “P=NP.” Hard problems are still hard, and your bank encryption isn’t suddenly broken. But a pillar that a whole field assumed was solid turned out to be hollow. The flagship experts are taking it seriously. The people checking it include two of the people who proposed ETH, and they said “If the claim is correct, it will change” computer science.
2) Kakeya and restriction in all dimensions (math). This is Fields Medal-level. For scale, the 3D case alone was proved in 2025 and was hailed as a once-in-a-century proof. This result does every dimension and knocks out Stein’s restriction conjecture too.
3) Yang–Mills/QCD existence (physics). Potentially the biggest of the three, but here’s the precise framing. It proves pure Yang–Mills exists, which is part of one of the Clay Mathematics Institute’s Millennium Prize problems. The full Clay problem also requires the “mass gap,” so it’s not a clean “AI wins $1M” headline. Still, a rigorous proof that the theory of quarks and gluons is mathematically real has been an open dream for about 50 years. The review panel includes Nobel laureate David Gross and Arthur Jaffe, who literally wrote the Millennium problem. There’s no Nobel for math, but this is the stuff physicists win them for building on.
Announcing three major scientific discoveries, one each in mathematics (harmonic analysis), computer science (complexity theory), and physics (quantum field theory).

We have been reporting on this coming together for some time, it’s incredibly important. More so than a new fighter or an additional destroyer every couple years. Absolutely critical, and becoming more so with each passing day. Yes it’s scary, but it’s far scarier not doing this
FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support — no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water.
The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis.
Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures."

I’m speaking directly to the source who leaked this information to Matthew Cole: Your life as you know it is as good as over.
Take it from me, or any of us who spent years in prison because of him (Reality Winner, Terry Albury, the list goes on).
The White House is smart. They know Matthew Cole is sloppy with sources, and they know he is a coward who folds like a wet blanket. Barack Obama had his way with him. And Trump is about to do the same thing. To all Cole’s sources, best of luck when his book releases this week.
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

If they had really wanted to do something there were many ways to approach this other than what they did. What they did was designed to be the lone standing arsonist firefighter.
"we tried to warn the world".
What a way to say:
"we gate kept our models so that only the to 100 companies who could afford to pay us millions of dollars had access to them"
"we created the most unrealistic guardrails for every small business, code maintainer, and hobbyist around so you couldn't actually check your shit for vulnerabilties"
"we created a FAKE CVP that takes your identity, but doesn't actually given any usability to solve for cyber issues"
"AI will kill 10% of the population if you dont let us be the only ones to tell you whats good and bad in AI"
Is everyone in this company living inside of a bubble, inside of a bubble, where they think they are humanities saviors?
"Dont worry guys, we're going to save you if you just pay us millions a month for access to our models, but only if you're a top F100 company, and than you little peons have to pay millions to them to get to the millions from us."
Oh yeah....you tried to warn us.
increasingly concerned that ai is revealing the mathematical world as negatively curved. instead of everyone wandering about in idea-space and clustering around the same famous conjectures (local positive curvature), ai is pushing out the boundaries rapidly and revealing that the space of mathematical ideas is ~hyperbolic (negative curvature). though this means there's lots left to discover, it also means that small separations between people/agents will lead to wandering alone.
we may be emerging into an idea-space where there's so much to see and do but everyone is alone in a private heaven, unable to share their subtle joys with others...

My 2nd yr in the league(1st Team All NBA) they refs cracked down on hand checking. My very veteran teammate, Stormin’ Norman Van Lier, picked up a couple of quick fouls for using his hands early in the 2Q. He played defense with his hands behind his back the rest of the quarter. What a character…

John Malone is predicting an $8-10B deal between Skydance and SpaceX. Elon has repeatedly said full generative movies and series are the goal for Grok Imagine. A content/output deal could give him training data and rights access to major franchises now under Skydance, including Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. A fully legal Grok generated final season of GoT, or a Hogwarts tv series with the inclusion of an extremely popular female Slytherin are drawing closer to reality.

🚨 JUST IN: A young French patriot just took matters into his own hands, climbed the statue of Joan of Arc in Toulouse and RIPS DOWN the Palestinian flag placed by rioters
🔥🔥 BRAVO
Rioters had covered it in a Palestinian flag and a yellow vest during today's protests
Police VIOLENTLY assaulted, rioters took over entire blocks, looted stores and unleashed MAYHEM in the name of leftism and Islamism
Burn that flag next!
FRANCE MUST SAVE ITSELF 🇫🇷

man, I'm really not a fan of this tbh. It seems kind but I really don't want unelected technocrats to possess so much power that they're literally going to distribute capital.
end result is simple: Anthropic PBC will give out more $$ than entire governments. So citizens of smaller countries will be at the mercy of Anthropic PBC.
horrible outcome.

It's actually worse. US–Russia trade was $5.9 billion in 2025, mostly in agriculture, raw materials, and services. EU–Russia trade was about $65 billion and includes high-end goods that can be used for war manufacturing. Check out videos on YouTube of Russian arms manufacturing — you see German and Italian machinery.

Smug fatalism is the one position I can’t stand. When I was a kid, Spain, Portugal, and Greece were ruled by military dictators. Walls with barbed wire cut Berlin and Jerusalem in half. Being gay was illegal in Spain, and interracial marriage was forbidden in Virginia. You can make your own list of the changes you've seen, but the point is that humans have agency, nothing is static, and hope never dies. Onward!
