You would think the fading wing of the party, the Haley Stevens/Neera faction, would be a little bit more conciliatory toward the rising wing. Instead they've set themselves up to get blamed for what goes wrong and not get credit for what goes right because they couldn't stop bitterly complaining for a full 24-hour stretch after the primary. Even Bernie in 2016, after the convention, was a loyal soldier through the general. I'm trying to imagine the meltdown if Bernie's wife said she was voting for Trump and Bernie responded by going on TV to say, yeah, I don't agree exactly, but here are all the terrible things about Hillary.

i think it’s clear which elements of the coalition play their roles and who are the spoiled children after this cycle

Reading Ray Ginger's classic biography of Eugene Debs was a key moment in my radicalization when I was in high school. In college, I participated in the fight against Cop City in Atlanta. The indirect connection between the two is one of the coolest things I've ever learned about

Check out my latest on Eugene Debs in honor of the 100th anniversary of his death. I'd like to draw special attention to the part about Debs' contribution to prison abolitionism, which figures too faintly in our memory of him, and the coincidental connection to Stop Cop City:
On the Democratic Constitution Blog, @overallsthinker argues that "in this era of constitutional crisis, imperialist war, presidential despotism, and mass incarceration, we should all have the courage to take up the task of finishing the unfinished democratic revolution."

The Trump administration does not care about drug trafficking, instead it’s about advancing the U.S. agenda in Latin America, there’s no greater proof of that than this whole Cerimedo affair in Bolivia.
⚡️ NEW at @DropSiteNews: Bolivian Attorney General Was Arrested After Investigating Trump-Aligned Operative The arrest highlights the selective use of drug-trafficking accusations to advance U.S. interests in Latin America. Story by @GranadosCeja dropsitenews.com/p/bolivia-a…

The underlying claim also does not seem to be correct. The GCC countries including Qatar overwhelmingly focused their lobbying on the political right in America as well as certain elite institutions that they saw as more corruptible or potentially ideologically aligned. Even more shortsightedly they focused most of their efforts in recent years on cultivating the highly unreliable and polarizing figure of Donald Trump as well as his son-in-law and other relatives. (The Qataris didn't buy Bernie Sanders a plane for obvious reasons.) As such they do not really have much sympathy in the broader American public and are seen largely correctly as another extension of the increasingly unpopular Trumpworld phenomenon.
I would like to think that at some level Israel Lobby guys have a kind of sporstmanlike respect for Qatar Lobby guys who have managed to contest their own game like this, even if they'll never break character to acknowledge it publicly

Ah yes. The Turks and the Pakistanis will protect the Saudis when the Americans can’t. 🤣 It’s one thing for the Sunni gang to deter or even coerce Iran when the US serves as backup. In the middle of a war with the US, Iran doesn’t give a shit about their threats. The Saudi values are their insurance policy against US strikes on their values. They’re not about to let the Sunni bootlickers of the empire take that away from them. Think of the scenario in which they have to deliver on this threat and ask yourself what difference does Turkish, Pakistani, Egyptian, British and French policy makes. Zero.
Important to highlight that Saudi will put forward a strong warning to Iran as well that attacks on CNI in the kingdom by Iran as punishment for Israeli/US strikes would trigger Saudi and Mecca partner response

Neera, this is getting tiring. 1) The community note is wrong; it has the wrong starting date on it for a start. Stop believing Elon Musk's dumb, distorted AI version of factchecking. Our numbers were correct. 2) You were wrong to say the CAP plan, with no auto-enrollment for everyone, is the "same" as AES's plan, which has auto-enrollment for everyone, and he (not me) was entitled to call you out on that. 3) You're such a stickler for accuracy that you lied on my show, saying repeatedly that you called out Mike Rogers on Twitter over his extremist pastor. No such tweets from you exist. You lied to others too, saying you personally called out the raid on Ilhan Omar on the day of the raid, and called it "outrageous," when no such tweets from you exist; only retweets of Ilhan Omar and Jake Sherman's tweets. You keep making stuff up, and you keep getting caught out. So sure, let's talk about accuracy any day of the week.
Fascinating community note. I will also point out that in my conversation with Mehdi Hasan he was inaccurate about the differences between the CAP plan and El-Sayed’s Medicare for All plan.

They have rolled it out across official channels. Took me a while to persuade Claudia that Iran cannot afford to back down from this now. They have to deliver. But you guys are primates. You understand this intuitively. The weaker side does not have the luxury to make empty threats.
IRGC Navy warns: The US military, as an aggressor, should be aware that continuing this approach will broaden the confrontation to include the aggressor's bases across the region.

If you actually want to address the issue of housing, you make housing right for everyone. You make all housing public and you seize property that's being hoarded by the wealthy. You actually need to redistribute wealth.

Because this Vanity Fair story also centers Russian intelligence, Russiagate dupes are conditioned to seize on it. This claim below -- that Dutch intelligence watched the alleged 2016 DNC hack in real time -- is complete fiction. nitter.gq/michaeldweiss/status/2…
Dutch intel got into SVR (Cozy Bear) computers and watched via remote cameras as Russian hackers exfiltrated DNC data in real time. Our unacknowledged Sixth Eye in Five Eyes survived the 2016 crisis. They’ll be okay. And all they allegedly did here was recruit a GRU spy with treasure.

Lmao you are an unserious analyst and commentator if you are even comparing Gaza and the NATO/Ukraine/Russian war. The Russian conduct from the beginning and very simply how that conflict began is like celestially different than what Israel is still doing to Gazans. Smh
You literally support the genocidal Russian war of aggression, you hypocritical moron.

I am not given to false modesty. Every analyst I am aware of is incorrect. I am correct. The US and Israel can plot military plans that make no sense. Iran’s is the decisive escalation. They have declared that they will start hitting US bases unless the US stops the game of cat and mouse. This is what actually matters, not Bibi’s Hail Mary, which we know cannot work in the first place. I have been complaining for three months that Iran’s approach was strategically incoherent. Now they have realized their mistake and come up with a war plan that is superior to even what I have been proposing. It is going to work. The Iranians have finally figured out how to secure the objective that they set for themselves in March. This is the correct strategy for Iran. It forces a military escalation now, before the midterms. When this is over, the US will have to capitulate and accept Iranian authority over Hormuz. It’s good to be in a minority of one again.
