She was once known as Monica, a South Indian actress who appeared in more than 70 films. She had fame, recognition, and a promising career in the entertainment industry.
But in 2014, she made a life-changing decision: she embraced Islam and adopted the name M.G. Rahima.
What makes her story particularly inspiring is the reason she gave for her decision.
She made it clear that she did not embrace Islam for love or money. Rather, she was drawn to the principles and teachings of Islam.
In her own words:
"I didn't convert for the reason of love or money. I like Islamic principles, so I converted to Islam."
She also announced that she would no longer act in films, choosing to leave her acting career behind following her decision.
Her father, Maruthi Raj, supported her decision, and she expressed gratitude for his support.

Her journey reminds us that guidance can reach anyone, regardless of their background, fame, or circumstances.
Allah says in the Qur'an:
﴿فَمَن يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَن يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ﴾
"So whoever Allah wants to guide, He expands his breast to Islam." (Qur'an 6:125)
🤲 O Allah, keep Sister Rahima steadfast upon Your Deen, increase her in Imaan, bless her with goodness in this life and the Hereafter, and make us all steadfast upon Islam until our final breath. Aameen.

When BJP govt changed the name of Ilahabad to Prayagraj, the Hindus popularised a myth to justify that erasure of Muslim heritage.
They claimed that Ilahabad was an ancient Hindu city and that Akbar merely changed its name.
In reality, ancient Prayag occupied an area of no more than 3 square miles. Prayag continued to exist after the establishment of llahabad Sarkar (a division which encompassed the size of several modern districts). Even when the name changing occurred, Prayag also continued to exist under Allahabad district and even had a major railway junction bearing its name.. tens of times larger in size than the ancient Prayag.
This man is doing exactly the same.
Karna Subarna still exists, and the ancient capital of Gauda was not even as large as modern Karna Subarna. Meanwhile, Murshidabad, established by Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, was an entirely different and geographically distant place, covering a much larger area, comparable to several modern districts combined.

افغان سرمایہ کار اور عزیزی گروپ کے چیئرمین میروائس عزیزی نے کابل میں 500 ملین ڈالر کی لاگت سے 'فرشتہ عزیزی میڈیکل سٹی' کے منصوبے پر عملی کام کے آغاز کا اعلان کر دیا ہے۔
350 ایکڑ اراضی پر محیط اس پروجیکٹ میں 400 بستروں پر مشتمل کینسر اسپتال قائم کیا جا رہا ہے، جہاں شہریوں کو تمام طبی سہولیات بالکل مفت فراہم کی جائیں گی۔
عزیزی فاؤنڈیشن کے تحت قائم ہونے والے اس میڈیکل سٹی میں کینسر اسپتال کے علاوہ 200 بستروں کا زچہ و بچہ اسپتال، میڈیکل یونیورسٹی، نرسنگ اسکول، رہائشی سہولیات اور 10 ہزار بچوں کے لیے ایک یتیم خانہ بھی شامل ہوگا۔
دریں اثناء، میروائس عزیزی نے کابل میں بجلی کے معاہدوں پر دستخط کی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ ان کے 10 ہزار میگاواٹ بجلی کے منصوبے سے 50 لاکھ سے زائد افغان شہریوں کو روزگار ملے گا، جبکہ وزارت مالیہ کی سالانہ آمدنی میں 10 ارب ڈالر تک کے اضافے کا امکان ہے۔

In 2024, @DarializaforNY Avila Chevalier participated in Columbia University's Gaza solidarity protests. She was later arrested during protests against U.S. weapons sales to Israel and Netanyahu's visit to New York.
In 2026, backed by, Zohran Mamdani, she defeated a five-term Democratic incumbent in the primary.
Then came November 3.
She won a staggering 87.5% of the vote, defeating her Republican opponent by more than 76 percentage points, one of the most overwhelming victories of the midterms!
Think about that.
From protesting for Palestine to being arrested for her activism, and ultimately winning a seat in the United States Congress representing the very community where she once protested.
From protest lines and arrests to the halls of Congress. What an extraordinary American story!

Punjab Commerce and Investment Minister Shafay Hussain has apparently distanced himself from his younger brother Salik Hussain, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis who levelled corruption allegations against the provincial government of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz a few days ago.
