NEW: Pope Leo XIV is set to become the first sitting pontiff in the Catholic Church’s two-thousand-year history to vote in a secular election.
Leo requested an Illinois mail ballot on Oct. 3, and it was sent to his brother John’s home in New Lenox, Ill.

Teresa Smith testified that an unsolicited visitor began filling out her husband Willie’s absentee ballot while she was in the bathroom at their Mississippi assisted-living apartment.
Both spouses said the visitor selected candidates without Willie’s instructions. Teresa objected. Records cited in the election-contest ruling showed his ballot was cast.
Bobbie Peoples was later convicted of unauthorized ballot transmission. Her attorney announced an appeal.
Assistance must follow the voter’s choices. Access to someone’s home does not give anyone ownership of their vote.

Pennsylvania law requires the same (for election day in-person voting). The zero tape and results tape must be posted (to be visible from outside) after the polls close, signed by the precinct Judge & 2 Inspectors of Election. They are open to inspection by the public.
CALL TO ACTION: After 8pm on Election Day, Michigan law guarantees ability to take a photo of the election tabulator tapes at nearby election day, early voting and absentee vote counting board locations.
Please visit your local poll locations and capture copies of these tapes and post them with hashtag #2026tapes noting county, municipality, precinct, and type of voting center (Election Day, Early Voting, Absentee Vote Counting Board).
If tapes have not been made available, please notify the election inspector that:
“I am an interested person present for the public precinct canvass. Under MCL 168.807, please make the completed precinct results available when the canvass is complete. The Bureau of Elections’ closing instructions call for posting one copy of the totals tape.”
If met with obstruction, contact local law enforcement and advise them of the violation of statute.
Please ensure that you capture full length of each tabulator tape. The beginning and end (should be signed by poll inspectors) are especially important.
Why important?
- Documents vote tally audit trail should results of election be in question
- Votes have been observed to have flipped between tabulator and certified county results
- By reviewing Zero and Results tapes, you can have increased confidence that the tabulator was not "pre-loaded" with votes
- Serial number information enables investigation into whether or not a logic and accuracy test was performed for the applicable machine

Pennsylvania's mail ballots finished 2022 at D+47.8 by registration, and the Senate race went D+4.9. in 2024 they finished D+22.3 and the state went R+1.7

NEW: In a new filing, a DHS official under penalty of perjury goes into much more detail about how the Trump admin arrived at its suspected list of 20k non-citizen voters in CA. Some of the steps in order:
-DOJ got CA voter rolls with name, address, DOB or age, phone number, voter history, etc.
-Feds "enhanced" that data using Lexis Nexis Accurint
-Enhanced data is compared to USCIS Alien number
-Matches of possible non citizens then screened against SS data to remove people who can be citizens or deceased
-USCIS then reviews possible matches of non citizens and assigns a confidence level based on "multifield" evidence
-Then, FNDS investigators separately manually review matches to determine which are believed to be aliens

I have no idea why renaming AI is so bizarrely important to Trump. Nobody cares about the name he chose. Nobody is using it or will use it. And it’s not even technically accurate because “super intelligence” already had an agreed upon, widely adopted definition. This is the weirdest political hill to die on. It gains you nothing. Not a single ordinary American in the country, anywhere, cares deeply about making sure people say “SI” instead of “AI.” We are days away from a major election and this bullshit is the focus? Just baffling.

157 duplicate ballots were sent out in Westmoreland County due to "a communication issue between us and the state when we were preparing the files," according to the Election Bureau Deputy Director. Had a voter not reported this it may have gone unnoticed. Stay vigilant!!!

Lucy told him she hadn’t voted and no one had asked her about registering. Reporters found an “X” in place of her signature on registration and absentee-application forms.
Nicholas confronted the facility.

BREAKING: DHS announces via federal register that Secretary Mullin is closing a Biden-era loophole that allowed Chinese nationals to travel to the Northern Mariana Islands without a visa for 14 days, which four GOP Senators alleged was facilitating Chinese birth tourism. Senators @SenMikeLee, @votetimscott, @SenBillCassidy, & @JohnCornyn had written a letter to Mullin in April, urging him to close the loophole, which Mullin has now done.
Via the notice:
“The Secretary has broad authority to suspend the program for good cause,
including threats to national security, law enforcement interests, and immigration enforcement. The Secretary has determined that there is good cause to suspend EVS-
TAP, while DHS, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of the Interior, evaluates the program.”
