Benchmark comparison for this week's Verian poll. Subpar for National and Labour, very good for ACT. Technically "bad" for Te Pāti Māori (had to double check that really was 0.1% and not 1%) but largely moot given their reliance on electorate seats.

Very cool and very normal. Utter failure @ElectoralCommNZ with multiple attempts being made to submit uploaded voting papers only to receive this error. Email assistance replies asking for a submission ID when no such ID is provided. Do you see the problem? #nzpol

National haven't finished fleecing us yet.
Tens of millions to spend on advertising and the National Party portrays kiwis as sheep that they want to continue to fleece. This is so incompetent that I reckon it is Luxon’s work.

Yeah would be really bad for Ireland if that happened... – at Auckland, New Zealand

Much past 1993. Mostly similar, but there are edge-case limits present in the current law that take us back about ~80 years.

Odd that the government would abandon all of those positions when asked to account for it in proceedings in the High Court.

If the government wishes to argue that justifies its policy, it will be welcome to try, but it is a little late.

bold play from leoni to promise two more rangitoto but probably a necessary pledge now given her position in the race

And now Serbia, which has followed Hungary's election shift from a few weeks ago. The test in all cases is what these new governments do next-- what promises can they keep or will "politics as usual" actually change (rather than just the people running things)? We shall see.

What are the odds that Lula's win in the Brazil presidential run-off election today is a portent of things to come in Israel, the US and NZ over the next 10 days? Has the global Right political wave crested? Or is that wishful thinking and its support is more solidly grounded?

This sums it up pretty clearly. Not valuing people’s right to vote unless they vote for “my side”. Don’t talk about the importance of democracy.
The left's support base is thick and lazy. They know that because they're shitting themselves that enrollment has closed. Hundreds of thousands of potential far-left voters are now cut off. Shame.

Pro tip: Don’t declare something to be 100% certaint unless it’s actually certain.
🇧🇷 As this election campaign finally comes to an end, we can say with statistical certainty that Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) will be elected the next president of the Federative Republic of Brazil tomorrow night. Bolsonaro now officially has a 100% chance of victory, compared to Lula's 0%. (globalelectionsimulator.com) will update its final projections within the coming hours. At this point, the only uncertainty our team has is the exact margin, not the outcome. The absolute range for Flávio Bolsonaro is 50.5% to 56.2%, while Lula's is 43.8% to 49.5%. Our final projection update will go live in a moment on the website and here shortly after. A banner will note that the projection has updated, so you will know it is official. 🌐 Global Election Simulator Research Institute 🔗 globalelectionsimulator.com

BREAKING: Lula da Silva has won the presidential elections in Brazil 🇧🇷
It looks like Lula is heading for a victory in Brazil 🇧🇷 tonight. The way things stand he has won the state of Minas Gerais, and ever since 1950 Minas Gerais has always voted for the eventual president.
