It is my professional assessment after decades in uniform that the single greatest threat to military readiness is the U.S. Army officer corps’ inability to tell the truth.
For decades, the readiness culture has been built on literal lies, and must be rebuilt from the ground up.
Sounds like Alex P🍆 knows a thing or two about being investigated 🤔
As California's top election official during the 2020 presidential election, Alex Padilla handed a $35M voter-contact contract to Joe Biden's campaign firm.
The state controller even refused to pay because she said his office didn't have the authority to spend the money.
Alex illegally used federal election grant money for get-out-the-vote work.

I understand what each of these words mean but the way they've been arranged is incomprehensible.

Mitch McConnell just told Trump in the Wall Street Journal to "plan accordingly."
Translation: back off on Ukraine or the lame-duck agenda gets held hostage.
Funny how Mitch only finds his spine when it's time to fight his own party's president.
True
Lula packed Brazil’s Supreme Court with his own lawyer and justice minister and had them lock his rival up for 27 years.
Back in 2023, after taking power, he named Cristiano Zanin and Flávio Dino to the court. In 2025 both voted to convict Jair Bolsonaro of a coup plot and hand him the sentence.
That court had previously wiped Lula’s own corruption convictions in 2021 so he could run again.
On election day, Zanin ordered the polls kept open another 2 hours, 3 minutes before they were supposed to close. Both sides had asked, but the call came from Lula’s former defense lawyer.
Even after Bolsonaro was barred and jailed, Lula still trailed Flávio 45–47 in the first round and only scraped past him by under 4 points in the runoff.
Flávio still refuses to concede. Lula called the win a defeat for denialism and lies.
Two of the judges who put his rival away were the men he put on the court. Voters barely picked him. The court cleared the path.

So, you’re flying in the middle of the night, over the North Atlantic, dodging thunderstorms, and St Elmo’s Fire pays you a visit. It’s both breathtaking and irritating.
But. It’s truly otherworldly.🙏

On October 25, 1942, 1st Lt. Jack Conger shot down three A6M Zeros during a dogfight over Guadalcanal. He then pursued a fourth Zero, piloted by flying ace Petty Officer Second Class Shiro Ishikawa.
Expending the last of his ammunition and determined to knock the plane out of the sky, Conger attempted to use his propellor to chop the tail rudder off Ishikawa's plane. Conger, misjudging the distance between his and Ishikawa's plane, rammed into it and ripped the entire tail off. Both planes then began falling out of the sky, and both pilots bailed out and parachuted into the sea.
A Marine rescue boat picked Lieutenant Conger up out of the water, and Conger convinced the Marines not to shoot Ishikawa.
Conger reached his hand out to pull Ishikawa aboard the boat, but Ishikawa attempted to shoot Conger with his Nambu pistol. When the waterlogged pistol misfired, Conger threw himself backward and injured his back. Ishikawa then attempted to shoot himself and the pistol misfired again. Conger hit Ishikawa over the head with a gas can and pulled him into the boat.
He was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions, and in 1990, Conger met with Ishikawa at the National Museum of the Pacific War at Fredericksburg, Texas. Ishikawa thanked Conger for saving his life 48 years earlier at Guadalcanal, which allowed him to raise a family

It’s beautiful!
Somebody finally treats the People's House like it matters.
Every blade of grass perfect. Old Glory on top. The presidential seal front and center.
This is what it looks like when a builder lives there.
Well done President Trump.

August 21, 1883. Just after six in the evening, the sky over Rochester, Minnesota turns the color of a bruise. Twenty minutes later, a third of the town is gone. Thirty seven people are dead. More than two hundred are bleeding in the streets.
Rochester had no hospital. Not one.
So a convent school on the edge of town emptied out. The nuns walked into the wreckage in full habits, and a woman named Mother Alfred Moes, an immigrant from Luxembourg who had come to America with almost nothing, sent word to the only doctor in town who could handle that many wounded.
His name was William Worrall Mayo. He was 64, an English country doctor, a hard skeptic on the subject of religion.
The sisters took over Rommel's dance hall and turned it into a hospital overnight. None of them had ever been trained in nursing. They learned it standing up, with Mayo giving orders and the injured laid out on the floorboards.
When the last patient was gone, Mother Alfred went to see him.
She told him Rochester needed a real hospital. A permanent one. She said she had seen it, a great hospital rising out of the cornfields on the west edge of town, and that she wanted him to run it.
Mayo told her the truth. A building like that would cost $40,000. Well over a million in today's money. He said no congregation of school teaching nuns could possibly raise it.
She did not argue with him. She simply told him that if he would take charge of the hospital, the sisters would take charge of paying for it.
Then she went out and did it.
For six years, her sisters taught school and handed over their wages. Every dollar. She bought nine acres of farmland. She hired the builders. She oversaw the plans herself, and when the money ran short, she found more.
Saint Marys Hospital opened on September 30, 1889. Twenty seven beds. Thirteen sisters, none of them nurses by training. Dr. Mayo, now 70, walked in as chief of staff with his two sons, Will and Charlie, beside him.
Those two boys built their surgical practice inside her building. Patients started arriving from Chicago, then from every state, then from overseas. The brothers formalized the partnership in 1919 and gave it their family name.
Mayo Clinic. Today it treats more than a million patients a year and is ranked the best hospital in the United States.
Mother Alfred Moes died on December 18, 1899, ten years after the doors opened. She never saw what it became.
The Mayo brothers always said it plainly. Their father did not want the hospital. The nun did. She built it, and then she handed them the keys.
Millions of Americans have made the drive to Rochester with someone they love in the passenger seat. Almost none of them know that the whole thing started with a 54-year-old woman standing in tornado wreckage, refusing to accept a no.

Also, who still remembers that back in February, Anthropic refused to let the Pentagon use Claude for war—and the left cheered them as heroes?
Now the same people are attacking Elon for doing the same thing, only this time people are actually dying.
The double standard clearly shows they don’t care about Ukraine; they’re just anti-America.
