“[P]aper straws might actually be worse for the planet than plastic ones, especially when their life cycle is traced from the factory floor to the landfill.”
Yikes.
UNDERCOVER: GAVIN NEWSOM SAYS THE DSA IS "GOING TO BE DOMINANT" AND "MAINSTREAM" IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!
"The DSA, the energy and the desire and demand for bold change, not incremental change, is very much going to be dominant. I mean, that's going to be a mainstream Democratic movement. Absolutely. No question about that."
That's California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a likely 2028 presidential candidate, speaking to an undercover journalist while campaigning in New Hampshire.
Asked by a "younger voter" who said "we don't want Kamala Harris, we want more democratic socialist policies":
"No one is arguing to manage the status quo and fail more efficiently."
"You can't play in the margins anymore. The system's broken. It's completely unbalanced, and we can't manage the decline. We have to completely reimagine."
With the September numbers now out, the estimated annual number of drug overdoses deaths in San Francisco for 2026 increases to 532. While this number is smaller than last year, it’s still not good. We allow so much death and suffering. media.api.sf.gov/documents/2…
We’re on track to hit ~526 drug overdose deaths in San Francisco for 2026. There’s been 351 for the first 8 months of the year so far. sf.gov/resource--2020--ocme-…
So her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, and her alias is Ilhan Omar? 🧐
🚨 JUST IN: DOJ court filing on the Ilhan Omar search warrant identifies her as "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi"
"AKA, Ilhan Abdullahi Omar..."
THERE IT IS!
Elmi is the same family name as Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the BROTHER she married in 2009
That's the federal government listing ELMI as her primary name, and "Omar" as the alias!
DOJ is now asking a judge for more time before it responds to press groups all trying to unseal the warrant for her D.C. home.
So if the Registrars of Voters in California are “not equipped or authorized to verify voter citizenship”, then who does verify it?
Massive concession: Los Angeles election officials just told a federal court they have no independent way to verify citizenship beyond what voters attest. (They simply take their word for it.) Under federal law, only citizens may vote in federal elections. Yet California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. American citizens’ votes are being diluted in California.
So California doesn’t actually tell aliens they can’t vote, despite claiming they follow the law on this?

If @DanielLurie can issue an order to ban data centers in SF, why doesn’t he just issue a ban on fentanyl?
Safe and secure.
Federal authorities are investigating the possible theft of voters’ ballots from a Daly City USPS location, according to San Mateo County officials. kron4.com/news/your-local-el…

The CA legislature sent 1200 bills to the Governor to sign?! That’s at least 1000 too many. There’s no way that all these laws are thoughtfully written or even necessary. Our overregulation kills businesses and raises costs for everyone.
Gov. Newsom told me he could have vetoed about 100 more bills than he did this month, acknowledging CALeg passes too many proposed laws.
With 1,200 sent to him this year, he said there aren’t that many problems to fix.
