Why would they? This sculpture was inspired by the cathedral in Nagasaki that was destroyed by the atomic bomb. Since there were consecrated hosts inside, according to Catholic theology this makes Jesus himself a survivor of nuclear war.

Please pray for little Nova.
Novas surgery is at 12pm Wednesday.
Please pray for her. The anesthesiologist. The nurses.
And Dr.R, the surgeon.
I will be heading there tomorrow even
Though staying overnight is unlikely. It would take a miracle for things to be able to fall into place just right to allow that during a weekday.
It says it’s going to rain so I hope travels aren’t unsafe like last weeks.
Nova really needs me especially with such a brutal surgery taking place again. I am overwhelmed. I am emotionally tapped. I am just distracted and sad, and my kids are feeling the damage. 💔 I just need my full family home & together and everything else can come after.
Let’s hope this result of taking out the jaw hardware goes better than the surgery of putting it in.
All our love,
Nova’s mom ❤️🧸🙏

Every time an old person talks about their childhood they describe insane emotional abuse like it was ordinary as going to get ice cream. So much of their behavior makes sense when you remember they have decades of trauma they stubbornly refuse to heal from.
Kathy Bates says she was sure she never thanked her mother in her Misery Oscar speech, then the interviewer showed her the tape
"She gave up her retirement because I was born so late in life to them."
"When I won the Oscar for Misery, she said, I don't know what all the excitement about, you didn't discover the cure for cancer."
"Why did I think I didn't thank her?"
"Because she should have had my life."
"I wanted her spirit to come into me and enjoy everything I was enjoying because of what she'd given up."
Her mom's whole review of the Oscar was that she didn't cure cancer, and Kathy still believed she had shorted her that night. Then she watches herself thank her mom at home, right there in the speech. Some people never stop trying to pay their parents back. You can hear it in how quiet she gets at the end.

Really must be quite depressing to be a serious actor & spend most of your time being forced into silly content gimmicks. Just endlessly banal shtick. Can only applaud Seydoux for refusing to eat a stale croissant for Instagram giggles

Was unaware William F Buckley advocated for a prisoner, got him a lawyer, and single handedly got him released, only for the guy to immediately kidnap a woman and very nearly knife her to death.
Criminal justice reform has a sterling conservative pedigree.

absolutely insane. horrible horrible tragedy for an artist brave enough to continue to speak out and use art as an expression
Jafar Panahi has been sentenced to five years and one month in prison by a Tehran court:
• The new ruling, according to his lawyer, is separate from a previous one-year prison sentence
• The court also ordered the confiscation of Panahi’s assets and imposed two-year bans on social media use and travel

guy attempts to join the universal church and is shocked to find out that it is, in fact, universal
Replying to @FDerpenstein
Didn’t say I would harm a migrant, the Church just needs to remember that in Europe, it’s primary goal should be to cater to Europeans, and in my experience the current church doesn’t really care about us, even though the Church stands on the shoulders of our history.

"Stand for what is right and what is true" and it's giving a platform to a woman who cooked kittens to death in her car and sided with her daughter's rapist over her daughter. That's family values in the Vivek and Vance family households, but it's horrific to normal people.
